also there is a pic with the chocobros witnesing regis's death and gladio is wearing a fur cape, nyx wears fur on his battle gear. nyx, libertus and gladio's hairstyles, proto nyx looks like he be gladio's brother... it could be perfectly something there, but sadly it isnt

Yeah that’s artwork found in The Art & Design of Final Fantasy XV, it’s actually concept work and wasn’t used in game.

Nyx doesn’t wear a lot of fur, just a strip of it, per the movie producer they likened his character to a Snow Leopard, actually all the characters in the Kingsglaive movie were given a certain colour pallet from which they based the character’s clothing around. They also mentioned the horn on his hood was used as a sign that his family is a line of hunters. Nyx’s tattoos as with Libertus were a signification that they are from a different region of Lucis. 

Not sure if you know this but in Japan, tattoos are mostly associated with the Yakuza (Japanese mafia), tattoos are frowned upon as people don’t want to be connected to such. So Nyx’s and Libertus’s tattoos are not as extravagant as Gladio’s as they’re more of a cultural thing as is having incense for Galahdians. Gladio’s tattoo was probably more of a reference to the Yakuza motif that Versus XIII had and changes had to be made for FFXV to be workable.

Movies do this too, the Lord of the Rings movies is a great example of this, they specified particular colours, art styles, and motifs for different regions and species of Middle Earth, Hobbits had warm earthy colours, Elves were lighter colours, Orcs were heavy blacks, greens, browns, Gondor has more Germanic tones in the architecture, Rohan has more Norwegian/viking tones as they are the land of horses.

Sorry I’ve gone off on a tangent, Production design is something of a interest of mines that I don’t often get a chance to really get into. ^_^;

Two W.I.P pics of my OCs Mars (brown and blonde hair) and Hoshi (black hair), I tried to design them differently for a Final Fantasy XV Im having right now with my gf Mars is a happy-go-round hunter going everywhere and nowhere while Hoshi, in this case, is a rear admiral and the advisor of my gf's OC, who is a commodore within the ranks of the Niflheim imperial army, buut the girl aint exactly emotionally stable. Or sane, for that matter
