also, i’m finding westworld hit and miss in regards to meta statements, they know where they should be going but tend to fail out due to what seems like writers pre-conceptions, but i am a massive fan of how the scene of Delores walking down that long corridor of broken host bodies parallels the scene from the original movie where the one lone human survivor of the massacre walks down the corridor of broken host bodies, flickering lights.
In the movie, the human is pursued by a homicidal robot, you are obviously rooting for his survival, in the show, a robot is being perused, admittedly in a more artsy way, but a homicidal human. They swapped it so the monsters are the humans. Now that’s some metal level bullshit i can get behind, the Ford monologues of how awful humans are while he’s being awful are too on the nose for me, tbh, this is far more my style.
