when I was very young, my mother told me a story about the bird who became the sun, but who first hung the stars in the sky. she hung them carefully, each in their own place, so that the world may look up and know peace. do not be afraid, the stars tell us, destiny will come for you.
Hey guys! We’re so close to polishing the site to perfection that Ellen and I are prepared to set an opening date. From Here On After will officially open on Tuesday, April 11th at 5:00 PM (EST). And with that settled, we are formally opening our seat and face reserves!
If you missed it, you can find a rundown of the preferred regional ethnicities HERE. We are operating on a first-come, first-served basis, and we ask that you include an alternate choice when reserving as we do not allow competitions.
Seat reservations are also on a first-come, first-served basis - you can find information on the open seats HERE. In the case of multiple requests for one seat, we encourage those interested parties to consider working together. And don’t worry, there’s no need to reserve a seat if you’re not planning to make a member of the seat’s ruling house - commoners can originate and live anywhere without creating a house.
If you have any questions, as always, shoot us an ask or hit us up on Discord and we’ll be happy to clarify!
As things tick along swiftly behind the scenes here, we thought we would share our first PREVIEW, a look at the setting of From Here On After. As always, let us know if you have any questions, and keep those intros coming!
From Here On After is set primarily on the Isthmus of Scythea. To the northeast lie the Free Cities of Noldon, remnants of the initial residents of the Meletian Plains. Across the heart of the isthmus spans the newly reconstituted Empire of Melete, laying claim to the plains from whence they take their name - and dreaming of more expansive borders. And to the south rests the Mirahar, a region of proud scholars and cultured caliphs surpassing any other land in the known world with its knowledge and fierce beauty.
Melete has unified under the rule of House Eirenikos, kings who style themselves Imperator in the tradition of the vanished empire. Until recently, the land was fragmented into city-states ruled by Patriarchs, warlords who have burnished their reputations in the centuries since the fall of the Ibene Empire, and these men and women, styled as Lord and Lady, respectively, continue to exert great influence in Melete.
The Free Cities of Noldon operate as a loose confederation of sovereign republics spread across the Scarpatian Mountains. All take pride in the appearance of a meritocracy, although the reality is far different. The city-states cooperate amongst each other only on matters of trade and conquest as they seek fresh land and fresher markets in the lands beyond their northern borders.
The Mirahar, an ancient name for a desert therein that has come to encompass the whole region south of the Kerdan Mountains, counts several independent tribes and caliphates among its residents. Although all have ambitions that extend beyond their borders, the region is known more for intellectual achievement than a history of conquest.
And of course, the taken houses will also have canons available - we have queued house descriptions and genealogies for the taken seats, so if you’re interested, keep a lookout over the next few days!
can i shoot you an ask about azahara? (this is via's main!!)
Following the seat information on Azhara! If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to ask. And for the other members, feel free to request other seats or ask for other info snippets.
Set on the shores of the Cerasus like a teeming anthill, the ports of Azhara teem with restless energy. It is bounded on all sides by sand and water, leaving locals little choice but to master the traversing of both; Azharans populate as many ship decks as sailors from Sansones or Castronovo. Not all their work is legitimate, of course. The Free Cities regularly complain of the blind eye turned to privateers who choose to drop anchor off Azhara’s shores.
