I really wanna talk about the rottmnt au my partner and our friend made with me, it's so cute and fun (and angsty) but i just havent the spoons to properly write for it in a bit
it's called the Community Support Au and basically at the end of the rise movie while Mikey is opening the portal, through mystic connection he ends up bringing the future gang to the present, essentially reviving them all. this includes the four turtles, April, Casey, and Sunita. we're still tweaking the very first moments of the au but I believe we settled on the young turtles getting sucked into to portal with Leo and the krang and the newly revived future gang having to rescue them, so it's a very stressful time.
the au itself has a lot of other details, not just the main one of having the past and future gang around, cuz it holds headcanons and au ideas we have for rise as a whole, some of which are purely self indulgent cuz well, thats why we made it. the timeline itself is different, so the turtles are a bit younger than their canon ages in the movie, and the mystic revival made the future gang appear a little younger too, not by much cuz they're still clearly adults, but id say they give mid 30s at the oldest now.
the whole vibe of the au is as the name of it states, community support. it's meant to show the healing between the future gang and the present gang, and how that healing changes them for the better. it's also fun to show how different the adults are from the kids and how even tho they are all meant to be the same people, their direct connection and proximity make them into entirely different people. essentially the kids will never become the adult versions of themselves because that timeline is gone, it's diverged because now they have to direct care from their adult selves to shape them. the adult versions can no longer entirely see themselves in the kids because so much is different from what was and they have a hand at making things different. their connections make them different people, but they are always family.
it also has fun little ships which make me insane cjfbdjf it's really cute and adds to the found family thing. tmnt always feels like found family and in this au the family gets so big and full of love, it's one of my favorite aus ever. I think ill try to post about it more, and maybe share the few writings i have
