Just a little progress on the evil plan. I've got to get that superwash merino off the wheel before this can go on, and a few shawls that need off their respective needles before the knitting can begin, but I'm going and letting myself be hopeful. Oh, and happy new year, all that.

Grist isn't perfect. It'll be unnoticeable in the finished shawl but... Ah well. I might be blocking by Sunday after all.

Honestly, there's a good chance it's all going to end up sitting in storage for a while, but at least I'm trading a bag of stinky greasy dirty wool for a bag of beautiful clean combed wool. Plus, have I mentioned how much I love dizzing top?

Finally got around to setting the twist on some gradient blending experiment yarn. There's an ounce or so there? Maybe I can swing a premie hat? It is superwash. (I am just KILLING in the "not spending all day lying in bed" department today.)

I'm turning this into a little experiment in how to spin the mini batts (besides, you know, turning them into proper rolags). So far, my favorite in terms of the finished yarn is the bright pink (which I spun semi-worsted and the wool hated every second of it), and my favorite in terms of the spinning experience was the violet (which I spun "against the grain" long draw, and there's nothing remotely even or controlled about the result - which isn't bad but also isn't what I was going for). The middle one was.... not so great in either respect. ...one of these days I'll start posting this stuff on Ravelry and maybe start to actually learn from my mistakes. Presumably.

This has the potential to turn out rather pretty. I would like to get better at spinning carded fiber at a consistent thickness.
