The yarn head dolls were popular in the 1980's and now the daughters of the loving mothers are creating the dolls for their daughters. Some doll makers are replacing missing hands or heads as well. The head and hands are made with a hard vinyl with hand-painted nose, eyes, freckles, and lips. The yarn for the straight hair is acrylic.
