Synopsis: Sylus returns to a surprise

Sylus unabashedly hurried home when he and the Twins had finished their business. He’d gotten the notification that she had entered the base and the business he’d had to complete had been tiresome. He pushed the door open and started down the hallway when he heard music faintly begin playing. He stopped in his tracks and turned his head to the side, fixing Luke and Kieran both with a look.
“Oh, is Boss Lady singing again?” Luke piped up.
“Do Not Disturb Mode: Activated.” Kieran saluted.
Sylus internally rolled his eyes at their antics but was, once again, glad they understood immediately. He watched them hurry off and then followed the sound of the music. He knocked but when he didn’t get a response, he opened the door just in time for a woman to begin singing a wordless melody accompanied by heavy drums and guitar. Once again, he stopped in his tracks at the sight before him.
She was dancing.
It wasn’t a polished choreography by any means; it was the kind of dancing one did when they were feeling the music and they needed to move their body to it. She largely bounced in time with the loud beat but her arms were moving as well.
“We’re the children of the dark!”
Oh really? He was never letting her live this down, he thought as heard the lyrics. He leaned against the doorframe, folded his arms, and just watched her. It was no wonder she hadn’t responded to his knock; the music was quite loud and her back was too him as she participated in her one-woman dance party. He couldn’t help his mouth curling up into a contented smile as she continued. She seemed to really like the melodic parts as her dancing began in earnest every time the woman’s voice came on.
Oh, she was head banging now, well that’s fun. His brows raised as she then began windmilling. It was quite an impressive sight, half because she’d recently had Zayne give her box braids, so they swung in a wide circle as she performed the move and half because she was completely naked. He’d noticed the towel thrown over a nearby chair, so he’d surmised that she was freshly showered and then had…gotten distracted.
At one point, while jumping, she’d spun around but her eyes were closed, a contented smile on her face so she’d still failed noticed he was there and he’d gotten a delicious eyeful. Her back to him again, she was swaying now. Oh, it seemed to song was coming to an end. He watched her punch the air in time with the final notes of the song before dropping them. She moved to pause the music and put her hands on her hips with a sigh.
“Okay, now what was I doing?” She asked herself aloud, sounding a bit winded. He wasn’t surprised, considering she’d been jumping around for almost 5 minutes straight, “Oh, right!” she continued and turned around, saw him and shrieked. He grinned and waved at her and then laughed as she ran back into the en suite bathroom.
“Wait, no, come back!” He called, closing the door and moving to follow, “Child of the dark, come back!”
“SHUT UP!”
A/N: So...yeah, had a bit of inspiration...apologies for grammar errors, I wasn't wearing my glasses when I whipped this up and there's very little proofing. Enjoy!
