re: your fic - what’s been the most challenging part for you when conceptualising the idea and then writing it? and what pov are writing in - i love love love your tommy pov in one way trip to the sun. i get emotional just thinking about it (that whole fic is so precious to me so ty for writing it) but i’m excited for whatever direction you’re taking this next one too, of course <33 - zahraa

hi zahraa!!! i’m so endeared that you have love for one way trip. my wip is… a tommy pov!!! he is so fun to write stories through, his pragmatism and straightforwardness makes him such a reliable narrator and i feel like he fits my writing style well. i can’t wait to tell this story through his eyes. right now, it truly does feel like the spiritual successor to one way trip to the sun - i wonder if readers will feel the same way!

great question i love it! something important to me when i write long form 911 stories is weaving in emergencies—they are such a pivotal part of that fictional world, and i’ve always felt like fics that use emergencies and disasters as a vehicle for plot really capture the essence of the show in an enhanced way. so far, the biggest challenge for me in this story was finding a way to provide necessary information about the setting of the situation tommy and taylor find themselves in without it feeling stale. i want to teach and provide exposition without the reader getting bored and finding things too technical. i wound up spending a good chunk of time on that section, and i’m so motivated and energized by how it came out! and the best part of getting through difficult sections of the story is that you get that much closer to the parts you’re dying to write. i feel a little bit like the hard part is over for now and i’m going to get through the next few scenes a lot more diligently!

newtkelly thoughts on Taylor Kelly. you mean one of the 911 thinkers I respect the most's....giving an iteration on a character whose ethos / modus operandi I find the most misunderstood......you mean thoughts on Taylor kelly I would would predictably adore the most?????

ohhhhh you are so kind and you are in for a treat because taylor is a bad bitch in this fic and i’m having a LOT of fun playing with her and tommy and putting them in situations <3

6. Share one of your weaknesses

i am not so good at finishing what i start. i’ll be super inspired to write a story and then after two chapters my battery feels totally drained and i just stop writing it

it’s from this NYC stoner au thing i’ve been working on for literally a year and idk it’s the first sentence of it and i was sitting on a greyhound and i wrote that paragraph and then just kept writing like 3k on my phone and i miss being that  ~into~ a story 

8. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much

this is going to be so hard oh my god. i’ve talked so much about pandabomb and trilliath recently that i think i’ll mention a few of my old faves

pyes is amazing. they wrote this SUPER complex and wonderful (like BEAUTIFUL) teen wolf inception au that haunts me to this day 

i love halfhardtorock for porn purposes. indulgent af

and verity is another all time fave. the tones of all their fic are so on point and pretty and they have a really unique prose
