no shade but did you use ai to write the aloy/talanah/nil fic? you posted the end all at the same time and it's full of em dashes and the same phrasing and it just reads like chatgpt…

uhhh no, i did not use genai to write equilibrium. i picked away at the last handful of chapters over a weeks-long frenzy, edited them, and then said fuck it and uploaded them all so that i could put it behind me. they were planned with plot points for months beforehand, which made the writing process smoother.

“your writing reads like chatgpt” how do you think chatgpt was trained? i was getting bot comments on fics when it was still fairly new, so i know my work was scraped for its database. i’m hardly the most popular writer in the fandom, but i know my work was used to help build the plagiarism machine. my writing doesn’t sound like genai. genai sounds like my writing. and this is a problem so many other authors and fanfic writers are encountering.

equilibrium.

in which aloy finds her east and west, her rising sun and her setting sun, in the two people who provide balance to who she is.

featuring best friends to “oh fuck i’m in love with her,” “it doesn’t have to mean anything” “… as expected” to “oh fuck i’m in love with him too,” idiots in love, yearning and mourning, a somewhat-alarming amount of smut, and bi4bi4bi.

When she remembers it later, Aloy knows she is the one who makes the first move. 

With their holographic practice enemies defeated, the three of them round on each other. It’s Talanah’s suggestion – “Hey, why stop now?” with her familiar wicked grin that, by this point, sends lightning bolts straight through Aloy’s nerves and makes her squeeze her thighs together – and with a glance at Nil, who gives a single nod, they begin. 

It’s clear right away that the three of them will be at this a while. The victory will go to whomever has the most endurance, or is the most stubborn. 

Given the particular trio of individuals training in GAIA’s dome… Aloy estimates they’ll be at it until one of them actually drops. 

The tension that binds the three of them together is heavy, thick, leaving Aloy feeling as though they’re connected by the sticky sweet of honey. Even when they strike and leap away to space out their attacks and defence, they’re never too far apart. She can always feel Nil’s heat somewhere at her side or back, and yet she knows he won’t strike at her from there. She always has Talanah in her peripherals, even if Aloy is focused on Nil. 

And they, she sees, are dancing around each other as well, challenging reflexes and abilities even though she knows they sized each other up in the holo practice.

Niloy November Day 20: Coping

For today’s prompt I cheated a bit and finished/posted the next chapter of the Talanah/Aloy/Nil longfic, co-created with @kittleskittle and @mythicaitt, in which Aloy is actually coping very badly with a broken heart.

Equilibrium, part 3, chapter 1: Cope.

There isn’t a single cloud in the sky, or even a breeze to cool the humidity of the Lowland jungle.…It’ll be a beautiful day for a wedding.

Niloy November Day 4: OT3

Since I posted Niloyakka for Smutober, have an excerpt of the WIP chapter of “equilibrium,” the Talanah/Aloy/Nil longfic I’m cocreating with @kittleskittle and @mythicaitt.

She sees Milu first and her stomach turns to stone.

And then the Sunhawk herself arrives, dressed in blue silks so dark they could be black, adorned with silver embroidery. There’s a band that crosses over her breasts and loops behind her neck, exposing her belly above a lacquered metal and silver belt and ankle-length pants the same style as her usual armour. A metal brooch sits in the middle of her chest, and her hair is in an elegant knot at the back of her head, rather than tied high.

She’s stunning. Aloy hasn’t ever seen her in dark clothes, and they only serve to flatter her beauty further.

She forces herself to look away and ducks behind chatty Marshals to not be seen.

With only moments to go before the ceremony begins, the sun creeping into position, he arrives with his group of riders – and Aloy gasps as he removes his mask.

His face is bare. Unpainted. His tattoos stand out against his skin as light filters into the clearing – and none of the Tenakth bat an eye. In fact, some pass by him and salute, a gesture he returns.

They know him, she realises. They know him and they don’t care that he’s from the Carja.

It takes her another moment to realise that his armour – and the face paints of the kids – has changed. It’s the same set, but the colours and patterns are different. Instead of the vibrant red and yellow spikes of the Desert Clan, his chest plate paint is deeper shades, and…

Chargers. Chargers and riders. Painted on, hardly realistic, but unmistakable, in deep shades of indigo and garnet.

It’s unfair that both of them look so lovely. Unfair that they’re so beautiful even when she wants nothing to do with either of them.
