Harry Potter Story Recs Requested

OK, so. My daughter (nom de blog Muffin) has now read (or had read to her) all published Harry Potter canon (yes, including “Cursed Child) and now would like more stories about Harry at Hogwarts. My husband read her “Goldstein” for the Jewish element, and she enjoyed it, but it’s not complete. She asked me to find her some more fanfic, but she wants it to be about Harry at Hogwarts.

She didn’t have any specific requirements, but mine are:

Every fanfic writer — heck, every writer — has a story that they wrote that they like but that gets very little attention from readers. For me, that story is “That’s All We Heard About Brenda and Eddie,” an Agents of SHIELD story that I wrote on a whim. It’s based on a misheard song lyric, and I wrote it after purposely mis-singing a Billy Joel song. And I totally get why it got no love — it’s a goofy story with really a nonexistent plot, and I wrote it as a joke for my own joy. And I put it up because it gives me joy to know that it’s out in the world, even if no one ever reads it. That’s why I write, ultimately — because it gives me joy, even if it’s just written for myself.

So, what’s your story that exists just for your joy?

Picking a favorite is hard, but I’ll have to go with “The Sporting Life” by @hugealienpie, which is a Sports Night/Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover (and which was a gift to me because it came out of an idea I planted in HAP’s brain).37. How do you feel about parent!fics/lovechildren? How about mpreg? Not really my thing, the MPREG. And I’m not sure what is meant by parent!fics/lovechildren. I’m fine with “x and y are parents” when they’re not parents in canon.38. How do you feel about genderbending? De-aging? Animalizing? It depends on how well they’re written. @bead-bead’s “Checkmate” ‘verse will forever and always be my favorite animalizing AU. 39. Favorite AU fic? I… have no idea. Too many good ones. I reread “Hold the Line” (Glee AU) frequently. I also reread the two mentioned above a lot. But in almost every one of my fandoms (and I have many), I have a favorite AU fic.
