hiiiii are you taking fanfic commissions? i really liked how you wrote lady nagant and nemoto in moon shot aim and really wanted to see more of that >.< they are my beloved rarepair
Shamefully belated for an ask of this specific nature, but I had Kagurabachi meta burning a hole in my brain since Christmas and was in no mental place to try to juggle that with commissioned fanfic. Now that I’ve finally gotten it out of my system, though, I can in better conscience turn back to this ask.
So first off, thank you very much! I'm really happy to hear you liked that story!! Like, I've always known it was such a niche fucking concept for a fic – too much about Lady N for someone who just wanted Overhonest shipfic, too much about a Shie Hassaikai slash pairing for someone who wanted a Lady N character piece, and probably too much esoteric soulmate AU mechanics for anyone – so I’m always thrilled to hear that anyone other than the specific person I wrote it for enjoyed it. Somewhat lumpy shape and all, it’s got a tremendous amount in it that I’m extremely fond of and would be happy to have an excuse to revisit.
On which note, I'm not 100% clear, from your phrasing, what specifically you're asking for, but I am open to further conversation, if you are, two months later, still out there and interested. Feel free to shoot me a Tumblr message or send another ask with ways to contact you for more one-on-one talk. I've never specifically written fanfic-for-hire before so I don't want to just start plopping out my tentative rates in public Tumblr posts, lest I give people the impression that I'm more available for that than is in fact the case.
As to your specific proposal, I did want to clarify how I was reading it, just in case that impacts your interest in commissioning me:
If you just wanted to see "more Moon Shot Aim," I will say that I originally planned for it to run longer. I'd intended to get through the confrontation with Deku and do a few scenes in the aftermath, but it was a Christmas giftfic I quite simply ran out of time for it, and so I wound up having to just find the most reasonable endpoint I could and call it finished. But I have my notes and brainstorming for how I planned it to end originally and I'm definitely open to being bribed commissioned to write at least to the original conclusion!
If you wanted something shippy because they're a rare-pair you like, that’s more of a toss-up for me. In any context in which Nemoto joined the Shie Hassaikai per the way he did in canon, I’m a pretty dedicated Overhonest shipper. His obsessive, rather self-flattering affections are a defining part of his character for me, and those are pretty definitionally focused on the first person who honestly told him they wanted him around. So Nagant getting there first would require a significantly different from canon AU scenario! On the other hand, even as I sit here musing about it, I can maybe see a path to that scenario, given Nagant's hang-ups about facades and the ability of Confession to tear those facades down! At the least, though, if you have a couple of specific ideas you can pitch me or are willing to partake in brainstorming, I’m amenable to having the discussion!
If you wanted more of the general approach I took to Nagant and Nemoto in Moon Shot Aim but in a new story – that is, you like Nagant/Nemoto as a rarepair in a more platonic "I just really enjoy the idea of them interacting" sort of way – that's a split the difference option for me. So long as you're okay with Nemoto's Most Important Person still being Overhaul, I could likely come up with any number of scenarios to connect Nagant to the Shie Hassaikai that are less heavily focused on Overhonest as a ship, be it stories set after the canon's jailbreaks or in AU scenarios where she never winds up in Tartarus at all. Or, again, if you have some specific ideas in mind, I'm open to hearing about them. Even when I'm writing shipfic, my concerns and priorities are often those of a dedicated genficcer, so exactly how pairing-focused you'd want this hypothetical story to be would be one of several things I'd want to talk to you about to see what kind of story you'd enjoy enough to pay money for (tone, content, length, rating, openness to my withering disdain for the canon's ending coming through in fanfic, etc.).
That all said, whether or not you decide to follow up or even see this at this point, thank you very much! Three cheers for Nemoto enabling the hell out of Lady Nagant's entirely warranted cynicism!!!!
