“Er.”
This was... a gesture of affection, yes? A positive thing? They weren’t entirely certain how to behave in such a situation-- but they felt as though it would be impolite to reject what was almost certainly meant as an expression of fondness, and therefore simply stood there, rigid as a board, while waiting for the ordeal to come to an end.
Happy late birthday! I hope you had a good day :) (I should have sent this on your birthday, but I didn't know when it was. Sorry!) -Fire
(It was November 14th!! Thank you very much for the kind words.)
Just because you don't like a ship doesn't give you the right to start shit with another person for something that they happen to like. These are fictional characters that you're making a big deal about. There's an actual physical person behind the computer screen who doesn't deserve your hate or shit. If it squicks you out, block them on tumblr or use tumblr savior so you won't see it. hell just close the browser all together dude.
(I’m not “starting shit” and I’m not “hating”. If someone “happens to like” the idea of a brother and his younger sister in a romantic relationship, then it is more than my right to express disgust at their opinion.
The ship might be fictional, but the impact it has on those who see it is very real. Incest survivors do not benefit from seeing representations of their abuse romanticized, people with siblings in general do not benefit from seeing people interpreting familial interactions as romantic, and telling someone to get off the internet entirely because they don’t want the people they follow to support incest is....... rather disconcerting.
Also, I have blocked the person. But the fact remains that I saw their post in the first place. They didn’t even tag it as incest, either-- so your solution of blacklisting it wouldn’t have amounted to much. In any case, telling someone that their ship is gross has decidedly far less of a negative impact than romanticization of unhealthy power dynamics in relationships.
Your ships are not worth more than people’s safety. Just because you’re online doesn’t mean you can flippantly disregard what abuse survivors are saying. Keep that shit to yourself, don’t claim that there’s nothing wrong with it, and, as you said, remember that there are actual people behind the blogs you interact with.)
Hello! I'm sorry to hear that your day was exhausting. But on the bright side: the icon of Manfred holding a cat was very very cute! -Fire
(Thank you very much! I really do love the idea of Manfred having a cat in prison, as it’s canon that there’s an animal therapy program in place. I want to incorporate it into this blog, but, the thread I was doing a long time ago where they got the cat never ended up getting finished.)
Just felt like telling you that I really enjoy to read your roleplays and I definitely like that you post dresses from around the 19th century! They're really pretty! -Fire
(Thank you very much!! That sort of clothing is very much the Manfred Aesthetic and I enjoy having pictures on this blog from time to time.)
Wow, your theme is amazing
I can’t tell if this is sarcastic, but. If it isn’t, then, thank you.
Remember what I said about saving the amusement park one? Change of plans: I'm saving them all -Fire
(They will be kept safe in your hands, I trust.)
