Starting her musical journey as part of the duo Slow Club with Charles Watson, Rebecca Lucy Taylor now operates under the moniker Self Esteem, as whom she has released Compliments Please, in 2019, and sophomore release, Prioritise Pleasure, in 2021. The lyrics deal with her personal journey in coming to terms with her sexuality, as she admitted to her bisexuality since 2013. The name is entirely in keeping with her confidence in herself emerging over her life, and portray a very strong, talented, confident assertive and intelligent woman. A fine voice, who doesn't try to hide her Northern accent, being a Yorkshire girl, from Rotherham, so being proud of her roots.
