Dear Fidndhs,
Not that I know of. Though, the one in the back looks like Lobo.

Paper Mario is just Nintendo's attempt at microtransactions by making you pay $5.00 each time you game over.
Get it? Pay-Per Mario.
ngl you had me in the first half LMAO
Is Wart hot as hell? Choose one.

TBH he’s not really my type? But like… big fat confident ultra wealthy mob boss feeding apple slices to his little monkey underling?
I see the appeal
Would you say the Mario Movies are in need of a rewrite? Like obviously you can like them as much as you want, but don't you think they might benefit from, idk, a reboot in a couple decades, or something?
It’s hard to say, because there’s a lot of elements of the movies that I worry may get lost in a rewrite/reboot; the art style, the core characterizations, and the character dynamics– particularly that between Mario and Luigi/Mario and Peach– to name a few.
I also kinda like the way the movies have played around with the lore? I like Mario and Luigi being from real-world Brooklyn, Yoshi spending a few months as a New Yorker, Bowser Junior’s independent rise to power after his short stint in boarding school, the entire revamp of the jungle Kingdom+ DK’s heritage, heck… even Peach and Rosalina’s sisterhood has me intrigued in a “where are they taking this” sort of way.
If we ever get a cinematic reboot I’m thinking a soft reboot, like a tv-show style retelling that keeps everything essentially the same, but delves deeper into the lore, lets character arcs develop slowly and naturally, and gives story beats time to breathe.
Okay, as of the time of writing this ask it has been one day exactly since the SMGM trailer premiered.
No doubt one of the main concerns we all have is how... utterly jam-packed this movie is? I'm hoping the plot will become at least a little bit clearer if/when the third trailer comes out.
So then, given what information we have now... how do you think the plot of the movie is going to play out? (You may think about this for as long as you want, and answer whenever you like.)
Okay, this is going to mostly be me making shit up, but by now I think I’ve got enough trailers to go off of to make a vague prediction for the movie’s plot:
– Opening scene with Rosalina reading the book to the Lumas, giving us a quick recap of the last movie until storytime is interrupted by Bowser Jr.’s attack. Rosalina easily defeats mega leg, but it turns out the robot was merely a distraction for Junior to steal the power source of the Cosmic Observatory, and capture some of the Lumas.
– Transition to Yoshi, who is undercover in a Brooklyn Museum. He hides away in a warp pipe that brings him to Tosterena, where he meets The Mario Bros and follows them around on a montage of adventures.
– The trio return to The Mushroom Kingdom to meet up with Toad just in time for the Star Festival/Peach’s Birthday, during which the group goes to the castle to see Princess Peach.
– Peach presents information about a strange distress call coming from the stars, and ends the meeting with news that Bowser has requested to meet with the Mario Bros. The Bros oblige mini Bowser, who is trying his best to prove that he’s reformed (with little success.)
– After the meeting with Bowser, Luigi hangs back with Toad and Yoshi to allow Mario a bit of alone time with Peach. On the rooftop, Mario gives the princess the pink parasol, and the two watch the stars until they’re interrupted by an invading fleet of airships & a giant flying saucer that drags Peach’s castle up into space.
– In the chaos, Mario and Luigi (recognizing Koopa handiwork) rush to keep Bowser guarded. Toad sticks with Peach while Yoshi regroups with the Bros.
– The Lumas appear to help teleport Peach and Toad to safety via warp stars while the Mario Bros and Yoshi encounter Junior. Junior gets the upper hand, but Yoshi manages to dislodge the castle from the UFO after defeating Kamek and stealing Megaleg.
– Junior and Kamek escape via airship as Peach’s castle falls through space onto the surface of an alien planet. Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi emerge from the rubble, miraculously unscathed, and together they get Bowser out of his cage, and set to work trying to figure out what to do next.
– They have a mini-adventure where they rescue a captive Luma, and find out more about the mysterious distress signal that Peach had told them about earlier, after which the Luma turns into a warp star to send them to Gateway Galaxy.
– Peach and Toad have their own mission in Neo Bowser City, saving a captured bunny-luma, who also warps them to Gateway Galaxy. Team Mario reunites, then goes to meet Rosalina in the Cosmic Observatory, where Rosalina explains the situation (presumably with mini-Bowser out of earshot.)
– Peach and Rosalina work together to connect their kingdoms (Mushroom Kingdom and Gateway Galaxy), while Toad helps put together a space-ship system to transport refugees of Junior’s conquest to Peach’s planet, and send out rescue teams to help the remaining Lumas.
– The Bros, Yoshi, and Bowser go to Fossil Falls Galaxy on one of these rescue missions, where they encounter Kamek, who turns Mario and Luigi into babies before escaping with Mini Bowser in tow. Eventually, Yoshi and Toad work together to keep the baby bros safe while rescuing the Luma. Then they return to Gateway Galaxy, where Rosalina uses her magic to turn the bros back into their normal selves.
– With the lumas saved and some Power Stars collected, Team Mario flies off in the Cosmic Observatory to defeat Junior and Bowser.
– The group gets separated at some point, with Luigi, Toad, and Yoshi trying to hold off Bowser and his army while Mario and Peach work together to try and shut off some sort of doomsday weapon Junior has crafted with the power stars.
– Team Mario prevents Bowser Junior from using the doomsday weapon to reform the entire universe in his own image, but the device does go kablooey during the fight, unleashing a singularity that threatens to tear apart the fabric of reality.
– Similar to the ending of the videogame, the Lumas that Mario and Co saved throughout their adventures come together to return the favor, throwing themselves into the singularity in order to rewrite its effects: the universe is mostly returned to normal, Peach’s castle is back in place, Junior is back home in The Darklands, and in an unexpected twist… all the planets Mario and his friends had visited can now be traveled to via Warp Pipes. Everybody remembers what happened.
– Mario and Luigi go back to work, Peach goes back to ruling, Toad and Yoshi start adventuring together, Bowser and Junior start plotting, credits role.
– A yellow cap with a familiar crooked “W” gets donned in an after-credits scene.
What's your opinion on the debatably real leak stating that W**** will be in the movie? I personally think that it's a fake synopsis made by AI, I cant really see him fitting in with what we have so far :/
It’s 100% fake. It’s the classic case of news agencies propping up a long-debunked story to get clicks.
The “leak” was from a made-up synopsis from months back, before the official synopsis of the movie was released. I like Wario, but ain’t no way he’s going to play any major part of the film while being absent from all products and marketing this late in the game.
The most we can hope for is a post-credits scene.
I personally think the best title for a third movie would be "The NEW Super Mario Bros. Movie". Not only does it leave room for the Koopalings, who are MORE than fit for a movie, I also feel like it leaves a lot of room for expansion. Plus the title is funny, because it'll only be accurate until they eventually make a fourth one.
That might have been a good title for a direct sequel… but a little confusing for the third movie. Sounds like a revamp of the first film.
Besides, given the nature of the DLC, who’s to say that you can’t squeeze Koopalings into “The Super Mario Bros. Wonder Movie”?
