People often confuse me with an Irish Setter. I guess it's the luxurious red coat. Or maybe my British accent. They also often call me a girl. I have no explanation for that one.
Mom has done research to try to find out why I look different than most white-gold, super-furry, bigger goldens. And she discovered I'm likely a sub-breed: A FIELD GOLDEN.

Field goldens are smaller, redder, often manifest patches of white on their chest, toes and muzzle (like my white patch and dignified white chin whiskers). They have a less-dense coat that sheds less and resists water, mud and burrs more readily. They're eager to learn, swim and retrieve. And apparently, they write amazing poetry.
Also, my field golden ancestors were apparently Canadian. Pretty interesting, eh?
