We have never been Modern Lodge
The Modern has seen better days. Astronomical sums would buy it. Raju is caretaking, but, well, its seen better days. . This was the location of almost three years of ‘fieldwork’ (faffing about, mostly reading political pamphlets from the M-Ls in my ‘tent’) for the research that became “The Rumour of Calcutta book” (1996, rereleased 2023).
