Regarding that Book (Enovire|Fienelef)
Enovire sat alone at Fienelef's desk reading an old leather bound book; a smile of amusement spread across his face as he flipped through the pages. It had been early afternoon when he had first arrived to find her room empty. In response he had searched through her books for something interesting to read. Time stretched into hours as he drank in the wonderful collection of anecdotes before him; he rapaciously devoured the words on each page, one at a time.
He found himself caught in the snare of a story when he heard the faint sound of footsteps approaching from down the hall. With some reluctance he closed the book and hastily placed it on the desk across from him. As he withdrew his arm, he knocked over an inkwell, causing a black river to flow forth. With a deft swipe he snatched up a pile of papers, rescuing them from the spill. With his free hand he set the inkwell back upright.
The sound of footsteps drew closer until at last coming to a stop. He turned toward the door to spot Fi, standing in the doorway. Shuffling the papers in his hands, he looked back toward the mess that he had created as he fumbled with his words, "I well um returned regarding the book that I borrowed..."
