Leaves a giant heart of feathers just plastered to Enji’s office windows and a note on his desk telling him not to be home too late that night, might not be valentines day anymore but that didn’t stop Hawks from wanting to celebrate it anyway, by the time Enji usually arrived back at the apartment, he’d left a soft, red down feather trail from the doorway to the bedroom where he waited, nestled in his blanket and cushion stuffed nest for Enji to get home (1/2)

Enji put the weights down with a grunt, satisfied with today’s training. A quick look at the clock above the door of the agency’s gym informed him that it was almost time to go, anyway. He’d have just enough time for a quick shower and a talk with his secretary about the next day’s schedule. Not that he couldn’t stay longer, of course, but there was no point in that tonight; he’d caught up with urgent tasks earlier today.
He went up to his office after showering and changing to civilian clothes to take his phone. It was on the desk, where he’d forgotten it earlier. Right next to… a note? Eyebrow arching, Enji reached out to take it. No mistake, it was Hawks’ handwriting. What was he up to this time?
“Hey big guy, didn’t want to bother you during training, so I’m just leaving this note. Don’t get home too late tonight, I have a surprise for you~❤️
Love, H.”
A surprise? Once again, what was Hawks up to now? His other eyebrow arched like the other when Enji finally noticed the feathery heart on his window. Why the sudden… Oh. What an idiot. He’d totally forgotten about Valentine’s Day, too caught up in work but mainly just not used to celebrating it.
“Shit.”
He quickly gathered the feathers to place them in a drawer of his desk before going down to see his secretary. They then left the building together after making sure it was closed, and Enji hurried to go back home. Once there, he was surprised to see the trail of feathers at first, and couldn’t help cracking a smile when he finally saw the display at the end of it.
“Quite the surprise indeed. But a nice one.” He said as he settled with his lover and pulled him close, lips meeting Hawks’ in a soft kiss.
