Chester was alone in this city for once, the other two were at their current but temporary apartment. There were so many people and he wish he could just jump on the rooftops just like he would in his previous visit to primary city but this was the human world so he couldn’t do that.
Humans don’t just jump rooftops freely with no trouble. Why?because they’re dumb.
Don would absolutely have his ass anyways if he acted up and blew his cover so he stayed obedient for now.
Eventually someone in the corner of his eye caught his attention and broke him back out of his thoughts. He usually doesn’t care about humans but his limbs sort of moved on their own as he dashed quickly through people to catch the kid.
This put him in an awkward spot unfortunately because he didn’t know them at all so ..he felt like he had to say SOMETHING after that save.
“Good thing I caught you in time or you would of ate dirt…or well concrete!”
A thing people didn’t talk nearly enough about in bodyswap stories was, height difference really super sucked.
Lowee. Kept. Tripping. On his own feet. All the time.
Or maybe he was just cursed, whats with the whole stair incident and all that, but regardless. Not cool. He had as much dexterity in this body as a toddler. This was getting embarassing.
Climb up some stairs? Time to fall. Try to grab something on a high shelf? Time to fall. Literally just walking down the streets? Can’t have you keep your balance now, you impostor-
Oh, hey, would you look at that, Lowee didn’t hit the ground! Did the god of balance bless him? Did the shadows protect him?
Oh no it’s just some stranger who caught him.
Still pretty sweet, though.
“Ah, thank you!” Lowee smiled at the man. “That would have been bad. Human teeth are so fragile, after all. I don’t think I would have won a fight against concrete.”
