Gonna say my thoughts about the awards ceremony even tho I’ll probably get hated on from England fans:
I know that awards are just a PR stunt, but it’s getting ridiculous.
I’m not gonna talk about the obvious like Mary Earps or Olga Carmona, cuz what did they actually do besides saving a pen/scoring a goal?
But I’m gonna talk about the fact that Greenwood, Toone or Morgan (could also name other players) should not be there or should even have gotten a nomination, while others are missing.
Where is Mapi Leon, one of the best defenders this season? Where is Patri Guijarro, who scored two goals in the UWCL final and had an amazing season? Where is Salma Paralluelo? Where is Rolfö? (Just to name a few).
That’s not me being a Barca Fan, I could also say that for example Pajor (UWCL top scorer) is missing.
And also, what did Wiegmann actually achieve this season? She lost the World Cup and couldn’t qualify for the Olympics.
I’m really sick of the media glorifying England (and Madrid) players. But why is that? Probably because they couldn’t care less about watching the sport. They’re probably just looking online at who’s trending and who would bring in the most media presence.
What’s even crazier is that this was voted by the players, like how? The players should actually know the sport, but it seems as if only England players were able to vote (I know that’s not the case, but it just seems like it). This should have actually be a “fair” awards, but it’s probably the worst one I’ve seen so far.
Again, how are there only 3 Barca/2 Spanish players, when they literally won everything. If you were to play this “World 11” against for example Lyon or Barca, I know who I would be betting on.
Now that I’ve said that, I’m glad that football is a TEAM sport and non of those players would win anything without their team.
Gonna watch the UWCL final now…

Congratulations to Paul Pogba and David de Gea who are shortlisted for this year’s FIFPro World XI!
Well in, lads!
Can you tell us your best XI if you had to pick one?
Ah, I can answer this easily cuz I just chose mine on a fun voting thing that a mutual made (with cool cards and everything)!
Endler
Ashley Lawrence, Mapi Leon, Magda
Aitana, Alexia, Fran Kirby
CGH, Viv, Sam Kerr, Mariona Caldentey
I took liberties with the formation but the men did it this way too so :P
Soooo those awards were a mess... I forgot Alex Morgan was still relevant in these awards in this day and age
Lolll time to bring back Abby Wambach and Homare Sawa into the conversation at this rate. Marta was a big ? too, like if you're going to go that way then at least choose Formiga who's just as much of a legend and could have enjoyed this retirement present like Carli
