A New Film Festival Premieres In Houston’s Historic Fifth Ward

Read the caption... Flashback to that one time I somehow got a small grant for my first photo documentary project and took photos of aging blues men before they died. Most of them forgotten in the dusty record bin. This is Gerald "Twin Sax" Gray (because the man legit played two saxophones at the same time), who played with Ike and Tina Turner's band and lived the real deal life but by the time I met him through a blues historian, was mostly surviving in a humble home in Fifth Ward, Houston and couldn't pay his electric bill... So I gave him $20 and drove him down to the utility office in my beat up Integra, stopping along the way in a metal yard too get this shot -- the man absolutely shredded that sax, proper blew me away, and gave more than one nugget of wisdom during the conversations in between.
