Attempted to get my Tuesday morning swim in and the water temp felt like almost 80 degrees 😥😱 I was out of that sauna after about 500 yards.⁣ ⁣ What’s a girl to do 🤔... hightail it home and fit in a 32 minute HIIT workout before heading to the office. I smile a lot bigger after my morning workouts. 😁 Kinda like give me my space till I have my first cup of coffee 🤣 Know what I mean!?!⁣ ⁣ This little full body HIIT workout was no joke till he said the words “BURNOUT ROUND” 😅😅 I may have given my super trainer a few choice words after that 3 minute round. 😱😱 ⁣ ⁣ Ever feel that way after your workout? Last bike/run race rehearsal for IM Waco 70.3 This was a tough training day. The road is completely chip sealed and that puts a lot of stress on my left shoulder in the aero position. I wanted to quit at the half way point then I remembered what @danielaryf endured during her #imwc race yesterday. She pushed through the pain after being stung by a jellyfish under both armpits before even starting the race. That took some serious grit and determination to finish and come in as the #1 top pro female. First shoulder workout in the last 6 weeks that I was able to use more than 5lbs. 🙌🏻 Left shoulder is starting to regain its strength after fixing my rotator cuff 11 months ago. 😳 I have no idea how I pulled off these times during my 3min intervals considering my right glute was 😱 Ended up walking half of my 3min recovery’s. Heart rate shot up big time into the upper 160’s which explains the effort that went into those intervals. Significantly higher than Coach asked for. Oops 😬 This run deserves a reward like a new pair of @altrarunning 🤣 Strength training and Creatine the last 3 months is paying off. 🙌🏻 ⁣ ⁣ Small changes with huge returns for this age grouper. When all else fails, listen to your coach. Sometimes that’s the hardest thing to do even for me.⁣ Wax on / Wax off! My coaches last words to me. I needed this. ⁣ You try to reason with yourself, “I’m trying hard so why can’t I just do it?”⁣ “Why does it come so easy to others?”⁣ “I should just quit!”⁣ “This is too hard!”⁣ “I’m never going to get this.”⁣ ⁣ We focus on what we CAN’T do right now instead of what we CAN do that we ONCE couldn’t do. Sometimes we are able to take big steps and other times smaller ones. So what if it takes longer? Eventually we will get there as long as we don’t quit on ourselves so just enjoy the journey.⁣ ⁣ Today I had to push past the little voice telling me to quit and remind myself that I’m still a work in progress. Each day I have an opportunity to get one step closer to my goal.⁣ When I did my first tri in 2014 I could barely swim and now I can swim 2.4 miles even if it’s slow.
