(Turn on sound) I am always moved by the families @eriehouse. I can't imagine moving to a new country and not being able to speak the language. In this short documentary commissioned by Erie House, we follow Maria and how she learned English through one of Erie's programs in Little Village. I fell in love with their story while filming and editing their family. Maria invited us in to taste her family recipes. I learned how to properly use a molcajete that day. Muy deliciosa! Learning English allowed her to get a job and support her family. She now teaches at a school in Little Village. Let the Editing Begin

Just got back the footage from my short that we wrapped on here last week. Excitement is the word. The Red camera is a beast of data. I can't believe the quality and clarity of the images. Tons of strong images from the 4 days of shooting and like any editing project it is a puzzle of possiblities on how they will be working together as a whole. I have an idea but sometimes thats not the final outcome. Emily Hard is also editing the film. My hands are off FCP. I think this will be good to get a outside perspective. Let the editing begin.
