I ran 10 miles today! Two pictures here. I had to stop for about 8-10 seconds at the end of mile nine because my gym's time on the treadmill maxes out at 99 minutes and I had to start a new run to complete the 1.07 remaining miles, but I'm still counting this as a 10 mile run because I could have kept going if the machine didn't stop. Last week I was fighting a nasty chest cold, and the couple of times I did run I was only able to get a mile or two in due to really bad chest pains. I'm pretty sure that albuterol is the culprit behind this, and today I didn't take any albuterol and didn't have chest pains at all. My pace is really bad, but I'm not worried about that right now. Seeing people run the marathon yesterday was inspiring, so I'm bringing my running to another level. #FightAsthma (at Retro Fitness - Rego Park)
New record! I ran eight miles: eight times are LeFrak City. My best before this outside was about 6km, and my best on a treadmill is six miles. This is a big achievement for me. #FightAsthma (at LeFrak City)
Back at it. I had a chest cold last weekend, and started off this week running around Brooklyn Army Terminal during my lunch breaks at work to fight off the cold and get my immune system going again. Today, i went to the gym and ran three miles in 28 minutes. Walked out if the gym smelling almost everything I passed. My nose is working at ~70%. #FightAsthma #FightAsthmaToday
Internet, peep this. I just jogged around my apartment complex, LeFrak City, twice. And peep. I didn't have to stop at all (aside from tying my shoe). That's at least a mile. Maybe more. It's definitely much more difficult to jog on the ground than on the treadmill. But I'm still proud of myself. Last time I tried this, I barely made it around once. I'm glistening right now from being so sweaty so I know I did something right. As an addendum, I had to stop breathing through my nose and breath through my mouth because I was able to smell all of the car gasoline, and it was too strong for me. #FightAsthma
Another five miles on the treadmill. This time, in 52:35, which is my best time yet. This is so difficult for me to do, but I feel so great afterwards. #FightAsthma
I did it again. This time, a bit differently. I was able to stay on the treadmill and do five miles in just under 57 minutes. I started off stronger than normal, but then ran out of steam so I had to walk every half mile or so. No chest pains, just at war with my mind and some of my organs. At this point, I'm just battling my lungs #FightAsthma (at Retro Fitness - Rego Park)
