@fighthaus replied to your post “Dorian with golden piercings, tattoos and half naked, drapped in fine...”
okay I know I liked this post earlier but I am back bc I can't stop thinking about it. when I first read it I misread it as "golden tattoos", and I am always a sucker for magical tattoos, like Dorian manages to get tattoos that are actually metallic, shimmering in the sun or in candle light, even tho by all reason ink under the skin should not be reflective (and of course he is also adorned by expensive jewelry and fine fabrics)
Let’s face it, if anyone can figure out how to make magical glittering tattoos, that someone is Dorian. Because guy’s smart as hell.
Now imagine, his tattoos aren’t just metallic looking, maybe he actually can conceal them with magic. Leave them all nice and dormant, for and if he needs them to be.
And I think Dorian, being Dorian, didn’t do just about a pretty design. It’s probably a design with power. Because he’s smart like that. Also, considering Dorian is Tevinter, it makes me think that magical tattoos are a bit of a thing in Tevinter (I don’t know, it would tie in interestingly with Danarius Fenris?)
Actually... It makes me think it was something Magisters did on slaves, prettifying their possessions--probably uncaring if it hurt the slaves or if had bad consequences. We know Dorian spent time with elves when he was in Tevinter, so maybe that’s how he saw one, and tweaked them to his liking. Another act of transgression, a small rebellion on his part. If if they give him an extra boost, eh. Good for him, they probably hurt to get.
Yes, good. Dorian has magical tattoos (and not the evil kind Fenris was branded with).
