another day another GoT rewatch another frothing rage at what they did to Jon
#I’m on season 2 and I am CROSS#I never quite understood it fully but like#the line ‘I hope you make a better ranger than you were a steward’ makes me want to BITE#because book jon was a good steward#Mormont TRUSTS jon and shows him how ruling the watch works#he doesn’t just berate him and Jon doesn’t stand around like a lemon URGGHGGG#half hand ASKS jon to come with him#and Mormont let’s him but still values him as his protege#I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again#d&d’s biggest sin was forgetting that jon was a steward and not a ranger#he might be good with a sword and good beyond the wall#but what made him a good leader was his head for collaboration and practicalities#let alone politics#book jon has a temper but he also knows when to shut the fuck op#*up#and he’s interesting because hes a good balance of both worlds#fighting wars#but politicking and spying too#urghhhh#sorry I’m ranting here because my folks are fed up with me saying ‘actually in the books’ every 10 mins 😂😂😂😂#asoiaf#jon snow#shut up min
