Grilled figs recipe
Figs are in season in South Africa and they bring back fond memories of my childhood.
I haven’t eaten them since and for some reason I remembered the taste and thought it a great idea to add to my son’s birthday party menu. Many people aren’t fond of the fruit so I thought I’d add a savory twist to it. A party hit! Heat griddle pan and drizzle lightly with olive oil.
Slice figs in half and when your pan is slightly smokey place figs in pan, cut side down.
When char marks form, remove the figs and place on a platter, charred side up.
Break off pieces of cheese and place on top of figs.
