The flavor combination of sweet figs and zesty lime in this homemade fig and lime jam is delightful. It's simple to prepare and works well as a spread on toast or as a garnish for sweets.
Ingredients: 1 lb 450g fresh figs, stemmed and quartered. 1 lime, zested and juiced. 1 1/2 cups 300g granulated sugar. 1/4 cup 60ml water.
Instructions: In a large saucepan, combine figs, lime zest, and juice. Add granulated sugar and water to the saucepan, stirring to dissolve sugar. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 45-60 minutes or until the jam thickens and reaches the desired consistency. Remove from heat and let the jam cool slightly. Transfer the jam to sterilized jars and seal them. Allow to cool completely before storing in the refrigerator. Enjoy your homemade Fig and Lime Jam on toast or as a topping for desserts!
