Hello, I'll be going into first year mathematics at university this Autumn, and I was wondering how you organised your notes? Thank you x
I’m going to separate this into lectures, tutorials, seminars and homework
lectures: lined paper, wrote what lecturers wrote, made lil notes of what lecturers said for increased understanding and then filed into a ring binder according to module, wrote lecture number and page number (in lecture and overall) at the top and also dates are v important
tutorials: lined paper, wrote down answers to any problems gone through and also wrote general method notes
seminars: lined paper, worked through questions, very messy notes
homework: generally worked on lined paper and worked out answers to problem sheet assigned questions and then rewrote neatly
extra questions: lol as if I did any extra qs in first year, but the plan for second year is to do any questions from the problem sheet that weren’t assigned and file according to module
I had two binders over the year, one for each term, with dividers for modules and then used plastic wallets to differentiate between lecture notes, tutorial notes, homework and extra questions, also I had a plastic wallet at the front for any work I was currently working on or halfway through or wasn’t yet due, so that I could just remove that and put it into my bag when work was due
