          it seemed that his dream was always the same. he heard           everything so clearly, saw everything as if he was still there.           and it was painful. he could hear the other men screaming           and yelling, but he couldn’t move. he couldn’t move. it was           like being there all over again, frozen in time. his chest           tightened and his limbs stiffened, but he couldn’t wake up.           and god, he was crying. ezra didn’t cry, it was like a rule of           his. 

                    of course it’d be destiny to walk in instead of his sister. the                     poor ten year old girl who had no idea why her father was                     crying and thrashing around in his bed, unable to wake up                     despite all of the fear. she called patrick ( hell, he was on                     speed dial in ezra’s phone ), sobbing and just begging for                     him to come over despite the hour. it seemed like hours                     before ezra forced himself awake, still stuck in a moment                     of fear, eyes wide and wild as he stared at the wall. he felt                     like he was still there and he wanted it to s t o p.
