❛ – they’re exhausted, ❜ she grins as she slips through the door of their bedroom, closing it quietly behind her as she glances over her shoulder a hugh, sitting in bed with a book in his hands, abandoned on his lap the moment she had entered the room. ❛ i barely finished a chapter before they were all out like lights. ❜ toeing off her heels beside the door, olivia makes her way to hugh’s side, leaning forward and gently caressing his cheek before she bends slightly, kissing him lovingly without a second thought. her hand falls from his cheek as she walks barefoot towards her dresser, slipping her robe off her shoulders as she passes the end of their bed. still smiling, eyes lowered to the ground as she shrugs the blue velvet from her body and carefully drapes it over the dresser. ❛ – the twins are asleep on the sofa with shirley, theo’s stretched out on the floor and steve passed out on the recliner half an hour ago. ❜
bare feet carry her towards her side of the bed, as she rubs moisturiser in to her hands and up her arms. she crawls on to the bed, sitting on her knees on top of the blankets hugh sits under, and olivia exhales a breath of laughter, reaching up a hand to gesture at her face. ❛ luke wouldn’t let me take off his glasses, they’re crooked on his nose. ❜ the smile she bestows on hugh is brilliant, and full of pure happiness. she loves her children more than anything, and she loves hugh more than anyone. her head cants as she looks at him, her hands falling to her knees.
❛ – if we’re lucky, they’ll sleep through the night, and we – ❜ her hands move, palms gliding across the blankets until she’s on her hands and knees, and she crawls across the bed. olivia rises, balancing precariously before she hooks a leg over his hip and she sits, straddling his covered thighs. ❛ – we might actually get to sleep in tomorrow. ❜ she says softly, a knowing look in her eye as she looks up from where her hands have settled on his chest, and she smiles. olivia’s an early riser in general, but she could sleep until eight if given the opportunity. and there haven’t been many recently.
