as requested – rough translation of starting dialogue between Ran, Sonoko, Masumi, Conan:
p2
R: Did you watch it “神ラーメン決定戦” (Godly Ramen Championship) on TV yesterday night?
S: Yes, yes <3
R: I really want to try that miso ramen from the finals...
M: I want shio (salt) ramen!
S: No way! The tastiest one is clearly the shoyu (soy sauce) ramen that won!
M: Which type of ramen do you like, Conan-kun?!
C: I’d probably choose tonkatsu (pork bone soup) ramen...
C (thinking): –– actually, aren’t these high school girls being a little too enthusiastic about a ramen show...
S: That’s right, tonkatsu ramen is not bad either ––!
R: Noodles with the perfect amount of elasticity~~...
M: With a thick soup base ––...
S: Tasty, tender chashu (pork) ––...
*stomach rumbling*
p3:
S: That’s bad... all this talk makes me want to eat ramen...
R: Me too!
M: Then why don’t we go have some?
M: At a ramen shop I visit frequently!
M: But we probably shouldn’t, right? You guys won’t be able to have dinner...
S: ....
R: Ah, but Dad said he’s going for drinks with the neighbours tonight...
R: Let’s have ramen for dinner!
C: Okay!
S: Ah, it’s me! I’m having dinner with Ran and the others before going home...
S: Can you cancel my portion for tonight’s French dinner?
C (thinking): Choosing ramen over a French dinner...
S: I’ve always dreamed of having ramen with friends on the way home from school ––!
R&M: Really...
C (thinking): That’s a really small dream, for a rich girl like you...
M: But the taste is guaranteed to be good!
M: After all, it’s known as being good enough to die for!
C (thinking): Eh? Isn’t that...
Sera brings them to a ramen shop she visits often (same one from vol 73) - the owner addresses her as Mari-chan (she corrects him that it’s Masumi), and asks if she’s taking home one portion of fried rice and gyoza today too (again addressing her as Mari-chan)
Ran asks Sera if she’s having that for supper (Sonoko: “You’ll get fat, you know...”) but she answers that it’s for breakfast, while Conan asks if she’s bringing it back for someone she’s hidden in her hotel room (Sera jokes that she’s bringing it for her boyfriend who’s secretly living with her)
a female customer (Shouno Yuna, 34, hostess) asks them to pass the vinegar, followed by a guy (Mizushina Sousuke, 29, part-timer) with the soy sauce, and finally the last guy (Nakanishi Osamu, 48, office worker) asks the owner to refill the pepper
after the three leave, Conan asks the part-timer if they came together - she says no, although they’re all regulars, they just happened to be there at the same time
previously, when they were also all here together, the murder-robbery of a woman happened nearby, and the police detained them as suspects - although they’ve been released, they seem to be still under suspicion since two officers still come by everyday
...aka Yumi & Naeko - Yumi questions the part-timer about the suspects, and Naeko tells Ran that they chased a murder-robbery suspect into this shop
they had been patrolling the area by car when they saw someone suspicious in front of a house and tried to corner the criminal (Yumi on foot, Naeko by car), who apparently escaped into this shop, with these three customers inside
Takagi & Sato investigated the house, found the female owner lying dead in the entrance (bleeding from a head wound), the window had been broken and the house tossed
they believe that the victim returned home and ran into the robber who was leaving, got into a struggle and was killed - Conan says therefore the customer who arrived last in a panic should be the criminal, but the part-timer says that (like today) the three came in at about the same time, and some time passed before the officers arrived
Naeko says this was because Yumi tripped while chasing the criminal - the owner laughs and says it’s because she’s a careless person (to which Yumi objects that she only mixed up the sauces)
Ran asks if they know each other - he answers that Yumi visited his shop (before they moved here) with her boyfriend who wore round glasses
p14 - Y: “But it’s mysterious...” “Why do most men with round glasses like eating ramen?” S: “My brother also wears round glasses, he likes eating ramen the most!” Y: “Right? And if the person has stubble, then the chance is almost 100%!” S: “My brother has stubble too! He’s quite good looking, so if he cleaned up a bit, and dressed neatly, he’d definitely be very popular... but he usually just wears wrinkled sports shirts...” Y: “That’s right, he gives people the impression of a homeless and jobless person... yet he’s very smart...” S: “His memory is also outstanding...” Y: “He can remember phone numbers with a glance... and his favourite phrase is... ‘I’m skilful at memorising such things. I’m the best in Japan...’ ”
p15 - Y&S: “ ‘No, maybe even the best in the world...’ ” “Eh?”
Yumi says she only tripped because of a hose (about 2m in length) that the criminal threw at her - when asked by Conan she says it had diameter around 3cm, possibly used by the victim to water the garden (because the hose was missing from the house)
Naeko adds that they initially thought it might be the murder weapon (because they first saw the suspect spinning the hose around in front of the victim's door), there are signs of cellophane tape having been stuck on the end (so they thought the criminal might’ve stuck something on the end and killed the victim with it), but no blood was found on the hose
anyway, won’t be translating files as mentioned earlier, but this extremely long summary should make up for it!
