// if there's one thing that's biting at him right now, it's tommy's voice. it's tommy's ever-lasting nagging, it's every last thing about him, his outfit, his face, the way he's shaking and the way he is talking to him. nothing about it is a comfort to him, even if it may have been intended to be.

he twirls on his feet, looks past a tree, as if he's looking out for anyone who might be watching out for them, then looks back at tommy's stupid, timid face. his eyebrows narrow momentarily and his smile twists into a frown.

his vision focuses and then unfocuses again, there's a splitting headache at the front of his skull and all he wants to do is shut him up.

" wake up, tommy. do you really think anyone's looking for you because they care about you? "

"what happened to him?" the hospital atmosphere is enough to make vanessa rip out her heart monitor. she's so sick to death of the incessant beeping. but her face is a little frightful as her eyes flicker over mike's visage. a little furrow in her brow. "after?" she swallows with a purse of her lips. still, she cannot process that he would do something like that to her. that he was capable of it. she wasn't like the others, was she? clearly something happened. after they'd gotten past the 'thank god he &. abby were okays,' &. the 'thank god your alive's'. she shook her head. "&. please don't lie to me. i know i deserve it, after everything. but --" she shakes her head &. looks down at white hospital gown. sterile. "i have to know." her eyes flicker upward.

The gadget in Morty's hand looked foreign: metallic, shimmering silver with knobs sticking out of it (who knew what they were used for, he sure didn't). Something that kept turning every which way within his hands. His brows furrowed, confused by what he was looking at. It was unknown if it came from Rick or something that was left here by someone else. The former most likely, but he couldn't rule anything out just yet.

He looked up when he heard the voice. Blinking his eyes to adjust his sights onto the stranger. Something told him that neither of them would understand it. Though, together, perhaps a little team work might do the trick.

"Uh, well, I-I sorta do, but I-I'm not even sure what I'm looking at." A quick scratch to the head, he outstretched his arm to better show off the device.

Reunions were supposed to be gifts, and Izuku had always imagined theirs would begin with a smile, then followed by a tight embrace.

This was poor timing because Japan was in the middle of a devastating war. How did Rody even get here, shouldn't travel restrictions already be in place? Who was taking care of his siblings? Hard to imagine the other leaving them behind when those kids meant everything to him.

Still, when words bubbled their way to Izuku's lips, they were happy ones. Something along the lines of long time no see and how have you been.

Unfortunately, an unexpected punch slammed against his gut, effectively cutting off his greeting. He fell back, landing on his bottom. The punch didn't hurt much, and it was in reality the shock that had dropped Izuku to the ground. "I..." He was too dumbfounded for words and took a second to recollect himself before standing back up again to face his friend. "When did you get here, Rody? Why are you here?" Never mind the punch for now, he had other, more important things to say first.

"Japan is not safe right now. You should go back home."

where he tries to look like exactly what his words are claiming, his tail betrays him, it curls, and lashes, before curling behind him again. " the better question is, are you being serious?? you waltz in here and don't even announce yourself first?? did moxxie hire you? " , the accusation is thrown out there and discarded as quick as it came.

he's really just saying shit. but seeing angel dust, of course he'd know who angel dust is, near his office, isn't exactly how he'd expected his stupid mental health walk that he'd been put up to do, to go.

evidently, he doesn't feel better. so now he's taking it out on the next guy in his perimeter.

// forgiveness is the last thing wilbur would ask for. the very notion that quackity is suggesting that he's here to be forgiven makes him giggle, the expression on his face is unnerving, to say the least.

light feet step closer to him, then he bends his back to his height, stares into his eyes. what he finds in them is fear, anxiety, a scared little duckling that is way in over his head.

no matter how much quackity attempts it, he is forever the most easy to read little thing, especially to someone like wilbur, who observes, and observes, like some kind of omnipresent god. the way quackity draws breath is not invisible to wilbur.

" oh, come on, quackity. " , he laughs, in the empty way that he does, and opens up his arms. " I know you think about a lot of stupid shit, but that really must take the cake. do you really think I'm here to ask you for forgiveness? "
