“ what can i do? ”

with a huff, the lad plopped himself down on a tiny cushion beside his workspace. he was overworked, the store was understaffed, and he was covered, head to toe, with patches of dirt. blue had been working since the early hours of the morning, and still wasn’t done with what he was tasked to do. and he would ask the other employees for assistance, but there weren’t any other employees available. for the meantime, within the area he was currently working in, it was just him.
so there he sat, legs pulled up a couple of inches away from his chest, his elbows on each knee. he had the pad of his thumb placed on the bottom of his lip, deep in thought. to anyone else this looked like he was wasting time, especially since the store had just started picking up some traction, but the young man was too overwhelmed at the moment to even finish what he was supposed to be doing— as if he could finish at all before his shift was over. blue huffed, feeling defeated, but that feeling was short lived as a familiar figure caught his eye.
the boys face lit up.
too far away to call out to the other, blue reached for his back pocket and pulled out his phone, explaining to his friend the situation. and surprisingly enough, getting back a fairly quick response.
[text] “ what can i do? ”
he chewed on the inside of his cheek, fingers tapping away at his screen.
[text] “..... you think you can help me uproot these flowers?”
