Saving the world seemed like a thing everyone wanted to do, but why? Geunseong couldn't understand it. The world was a cruel, harsh place full of unfair treatment, let it die. Let it rot, like it deserves too. That's Geunseong's thoughts on the whole ideal, why save the people when all they do is complain and cry about it? The only person Geunseong looked out for was himself, of course when he had too, he took care of his gang members, answered to his boss, but otherwise he lived independently. He had no remorse, no care for anyone else but himself, and maybe his dog.
He carried his lack of caring nature throughout his life, even when his mom and grandma left him to fend for himself he didn’t care. Most kids would cry at the loss of their family, beg for them to take them back, but Geunseong? No. His heart was too solid, his feelings remained locked away for the majority of his life, but faking emotions? Yeah he was an expert at doing that. After all he’d had many years to perfect the art of pretending, many years to deceive and lie to the guards in prison.
The male’s retort sounded as though he was trying to hit Geunseong while he was dying, as if Geunseong should be ashamed of his history behind bars, but actually it was the opposite. He was proud of his past, he’d show it off like a badge if he could, the male putting himself on a higher pedestal than Geunseong made him laugh slightly, “mh-- maybe not-- but they ain’t gonna care about you-- maybe they care about you now but when they’re old and gray they ain’t gonna remember the kid who came to their aide when they were like seven-- so what’s the point in saving them? Let them save themselves.”

stupid. it was all stupid. maybe she should stop fighting. maybe everything that she’s built up in the past should be broken down. no one appreciated it because it was something violent-- even if it was for a good cause. she beat up someone who was bagging on her best friend, but it was wrong because violence was never the answer, right? but words didn’t get to the other and all of a sudden, hyejung’s fists fly out and hit the perpetrator in the jaw. now they become the victim and hyejung takes the blame. she remembers the event clearly. she’s slumped in the police station, back leaning against a hard ass chair that wasn’t even comfortable. fighting led hyejung nowhere, but it led others to another opportunity.
how fucked up.
for her brother, he gained money from it but it was illegal. now he’s in the army because of it. a small sigh when she’s still on the floor, fingers brushing against the concrete. she looks up, he’s offering a hand. it was a rare gesture from him to her. she couldn’t tell why he was still there. he could have just left her there, walked away if he wanted to. she just grumbled, pushing his hand away before getting up on her own. she coughs, thankfully there wasn’t any blood spilling out besides the blood on her knuckles. “i am tough. don’t think otherwise. sometimes the best fall down sometimes. haven’t y’heard?”
"i bet they didn't teach you that in school." // welcome to minimalist!
ansel’s hands were on both of his knees when their steps finally slowed down into a complete halt. the dim lighting of the street lamps illuminating the beads of sweat rolling from his chin to the asphalt below. “no shit,” he managed to heave a reply between the labored breaths and rush of adrenaline. “i’m learning how to save a person’s life, not to fucking break into their house.”thank fuck he took hapkido as a kid, or he would’ve fainted five minutes into the chase. how come he never knew that his arrogant neighbor’s house actually has a guard dog? and a doberman at it too.
this time he breaks into a fit of chuckles instead, albeit a little bit choked from all the air he had to inhale in one gulp. “that was sick, though. the way you break the glass and all.” he extends a clenched fist towards the other. “that geezer deserved it. maybe next time he’d pipe down with his whale noises every night. thanks bro. you’re not hurt, are you?”
@ofstolengoods (from here!)
“i don’t.” it’s easier said than done, so much easier. he’s learned that, today. forget eating his own words, he’s devouring them like a pig would out of its trough, or a triple xl man at an all you can eat buffet. digress. basically, he’s getting stuffed with regret and a side of humiliation. what the hell is doing on a stage, anyway?
oh right, she needed a partner to rehearse some lines with. whether for an upcoming audition or just for the fun of it, he doesn’t know. but what he does know is that he’s grade-a ass at this acting business. what’s even worse is that he may have found a new fear of his. stage fright. but here’s the kicker: there’s no one in the entire auditorium, it’s just them. their audience consists of a couple hundred empty seats. “this script sure is thick, huh …”
The next line is: You don’t? But she wouldn’t say it. As socially awkward as Jieun was, she had quite the knack for reading moods once her mind was clear. The script belonged to a friend, an aspiring playwright who [sadly] was a complete closet case. However, not sexually, but vocationally. He was going to school to be a dentist, but longed for the director’s seat. A shame.
She appreciated Nathan’s help and willingness to continue. But she knew better than to kick a dead horse back into it’s prime. He was trying, it was very cute and very endearing. Jieun dropped her script, sitting with her legs crossed against the cold stage. “It is. He keeps asking if I like it. And I keep responding with the same thing. It’s long, it’s awkward-- but not quite absurd if that’s what he’s going for. And he isn’t.” She reaches out to the other, her hand lightly pressed against his knee. “Thank you, though. Maybe we should stop? Grab some lunch, get some air?”

Why had he asked her out again? That was something she was questioning. After all, the only time they had met before, was when she was drunk and behaving awfully. She probably had left a really bad impression on him. And yet, here he was and so was she. Together on her car to go to a garden so both could have a nice picnic. She really wanted to ask why. Maybe she had done something she did not remember and that had made him quite interested? No.. That couldn’t be. She wasn’t that drunk. Or she thought she wasn’t. She wanted to ask him a lot why he had asked her to meet him but it would be weird and it would make her look insecure. Like she thought no one would actually ask her out. Which is nothing like that. She could be really insecure about some things, but about her looks and interest people could have for her, were not one of them. She parked the car and looked at him with a smile. “We’re here! I even made some salads, I hope you like the food.
