UK Court Orders ISPs to Block 21 File Sharing Sites

Internet Service Providers have been issued a court order to block access to 21 websites who according to the British Recording Music Industry (BPI), provide access to pirated music.

As of tomorrow, October 30th, a High Court Judge has ordered for all of the sites to  be blocked, including a host of aggregator sites. FilesTube, Bitsnoop, extraTorrent, Monova, TorrentHound, Torrentreactor, 1337x and Torrentz.eu are included in the ban.

BPI represents the interests of the British record industry and in recent years has been pushing for a collective effort to ban torrent sites. In 2012 BPI was responsible for the shutdown of The Pirate Bay in the UK.

“We asked the sites to stop infringing copyright, but unfortunately they did not and we were left with little choice but to apply to Court, where the judge considered the evidence and declared that ISPs should not serve access to them,” said Geoff Taylor, Chief Executive of BPI.

In a separate effort, BPI is hoping Google will begin to rank these pirate sites lower in its search results to help eliminate easy access. In a previous speech, Taylor had said, “I don’t think it’s enough for Google to sit back and say, tell me each illegal file one by one and we’ll remove the results. If Google is clever enough to teach a computer to think, it’s clever enough, when it has been told more 150,000 times that The Pirate Bay is illegal, to rank that site below Amazon and iTunes when consumers search for music.”

Tips for finding past episodes and seasons

“What about older episodes? All of the download links I find on the sources you listed are broken”

It’s not always easy to find working download links for past seasons because they are usually taken down within a couple of weeks (most of them anyway) and since new episodes come out, there's not much demand for other seasons.

The bad thing about downloading episodes/movies that came out a while ago is that you never know for sure what you're going to get. For old seasons/episodes I usually use torrents (I like kat.ph) or download a streaming link (click here to find out how) so I can check it first, and for the newest I download from Bitshare or Putlocker from my list of sources.

If you DO go about looking for them I recommend Filestube (Rapidlibrary is a similar site), that's the site I use to search past episodes when I have to (I hope you have AdBlock). You may be able to find some, but you have to be VERY careful and know what you're looking for. 

A lot of them survive the times because they are in another language so watch out for that. In the file name you have to keep an eye out for PL (Polish), HUN (Hungarian), RUS (Russian), FR (French), etc. 

You just have to make sure to look for avi, mp4 or mkv. Try not to download .rar files unless you TRUST the source because it could be a corrupt file, a fake or a virus.

On Filestube, there is a column on the left where you can choose which hosts you prefer and it will limit the search results to those. I use chrome so I have made a search engine shortcut for filestube that automatically limits the search to the hosts I like (Bitshare, Putlocker, Filefactory, Freakshare, etc.)

Also, there is a tiny description for each link there and sometimes it's in Czech or Portuguese so you have to be careful with those. They list the source of the link so if you go there, most of the time they make a list of details like 'dimensions, audio:english, frame rate, etc'. 

Always check how many MB the file size is. 1 hour shows are actually 40ish minutes long, which means 350MB (give or take) for avi, and either 350MB or 175MB (give or take) for mp4.

Limit your search to these hosts: Bitshare, Putlocker, Freakshare and Filefactory. These are the hosts with the most decent speeds you can get for free (no premium accounts), if you like to use another one, go ahead, these are just my recommendations and the ones I prefer.

When it comes down to downloading old episodes, my advice is to play it safe and download from a) streaming sites like putlocker, sockshare and filenuke or b) torrent with a lot of seeders (the ones from kickasstorrents *kat.ph* are my usual choice).

Coraz większa ilość osób ogląda zagraniczne produkcje serialowe. Wiąże się to z faktem, że polskie produkcje są bardzo słabe i nie spełniają oczekiwań widzów. O ile jednym słowem streścić fabułę danej produkcji to jest ona związana z ogólnie pojętym życiem. Z kolei seriale zagraniczne to konkretna fabuła. Jest początek i koniec czego polskie produkcje nie mają.

Wyraźnie ten trend widać na serwisie filmweb oferujący porównywanie produkcji kinowych. Serwis filmweb.pl to dość duży serwis  skupiający recenzentów kina z całej Polski. Dlatego warto przejrzeć opinie o danej produkcji przed zakupieniem płyty lub innego środka przetrzymywania danych z wybranym hitem kinowym.

Nie w każdej chwili jednakże wymaga się kupna nieszablonowych płyt by legalnie obejrzeć produkcje serialowe. Te seriale, które posiadają w swojej certyfikatów wyraźnie napisane, że nie wolno rozpowszechniać w innej formie nie niemniej jednak te które tego zapisu nie mają można pobrać z internetu. Jest tutaj również wiele niuansów natomiast zasada jest około ta sama. Dobre zagraniczne seriale można pobrać z takich serwisów jak peb.pl czy też jeden z większych w Polsce darkwarez.pl. Częstokroć są też serwisy agregujące filmy znajdujące się na hostingu megaupload albo mega video i przekazują te informacje w formie streamingu. Niektóre są mniej albo bardziej legalne jednak peb.pl i darkwarez są głównie dla określonej grupy użytkowników globalnej sieci Internet, takiej, która głównie po sprawdzeniu danej produkcji wykupuje przykładowo. seriale ze sklepu zatem wbrew powszechnej opinii twórcy na rozpowszechnianiu nie tracą a wręcz zyskują ponieważ zwiększa powszechność danej produkcji nawet jeżeli jest marnej jakości i nikt przy zdrowych zmysłach ażeby tego nie kupił, przypadkiem znajdzie taką osobę poprzez aktualny proceder rozpowszechniania plików.

Jak widać na przykładzie peb.pl, darkwarez.pl czy filmweb nic nie jest takie na jakie wygląda. Wszystko jest względne i nie można twierdzić, że twórcy tracą na procederze rozpowszechniania plików w globalnej sieci Internet. W zdecydowanej większości przypadków nawet ten proceder jest kontrolowany poprzez producentów i szanowany.
