Bella can’t help staring at the young man as he passes. She knows for a fact that her brother is at work right now. The blond in front of him was an absolute blubbering mess. Blood was smeared along his shirt and his overall appearance was heavily disheveled. If Johnny had been lying about what he was saying, he was doing a damn good job of it. The rules governing Sanctuary were fairly clear–no rape, theft, and fucking lying were allowed within the walls.

So far, Johnny hadn’t fucked up one of the rules.
