I've watched Walkabout quite recently because Bennett Miller kept gushing over it and I'm so happy I gave it a try. Such a poetic film.
Oh man, I really dig Walkabout. “Poetic” is a great word to describe it. So gorgeous, so elliptical, so ambiguous… it’s definitely my type of film. In general, I like Nicolas Roeg. I find his films very… philosophical. And I really love the Australian films of the 70s; so many of them have this theme of man vs. nature, which makes sense given the rugged terrain of Australia.
I didn’t realize Bennett Miller was a fan of Walkabout. That’s very cool!!!
So glad you liked that one!

let's not exaggerate and get exalted (and I say it as a person from Poland who watched it 4 times :)). I personally think Leviathan's message is more powerful but I doubt it will win majorly due to its runtime (academy members are lazy watchers;)).
it's the first film of the 5 nominated that i've seen but i was really impressed with this. not only by the cinematography but upon finishing it i really felt the impact of the message that was being conveyed throughout it. it was very subtle but very effective

why if I may ask :)
I'm not really a fan of anyone involved with it tbh
