L.A. Adventures

Hello friendos! I’ve been pretty busy with some fun things so I’ll do a little update and you can read it or not!  I got a job as a film composer’s assistant here in LA and my boss is a BOSS. She’s super badass and inspiring as can be.  I’m also scoring my very first feature film! I’m not allowed to say much about it yet, but it’s a total dream come true.  I’ve got a few music students I’m teaching accordion and mandolin to.  Lastly, I’ve started a new band with a jazz mandolinist, myself on accordion/guitar, and two singers.  Music and film 5ever! Hope you are all well and following your dreams.  It’s just the best feeling to be doing the thing you’ve wanted to do for +/- 15 years.  XOXOXO

It was delicious, though I think the only thing I would change would to not include the candied nuts. Their flavor profile didn’t mesh with everything else but otherwise, it’s something I’ll probably make again.

Five things that make me happy OKAY

1. My cats. All cats. I just love it when cats are catting. 2. Performing. Being the means to share wonderful music with the world is the best. The feeling of holding the attention of everyone in the room, like, if you stopped to breathe you could hear a pin drop. And of course the warm fuzzy feeling when an audience bursts into applause and you look around the faces and there’s always a couple who you can see you really moved. Nothing compares. 3. Period dramas. Even the horribly sad ones make me happy, mostly because of costume porn and beautiful acting. Happy endings are the actual bomb tho.4. Jokes. Bad jokes. Good jokes. Making jokes. Hearing jokes. Just jokes man.5. Dancing! I’m an abysmal dancer but I love it. Especially ceilidh dancing because I actually don’t suck at that.
