WOCA’s mission is to unite women of color in a common bond to achieve social, economic and political justice in Idaho. WOCA was created as the direct result of a conversation among several women of color in 1999 at the Fort Hall Indian Reservation with the blessings of women elders. While sharing stories of our experiences of racism and the impact this has had on our lives, we agreed that women of color must address the culture of oppression. We created the Women of Color Alliance in order to fulfill a need in our lives and the lives of many of our sisters in Idaho.

WHEEL is a grassroots organizing effort of homeless and formerly homeless women working to increase dignity, safety and resources for homeless women and to advocate for systemic changes towards ending homelessness. We formed in 1993 to advocate for more shelter and safety for homeless women in an empowering and dignified way that engaged women in creating and operating programs to address their own problems. Our vision is empowerment through social engagement. WHEEL gives voice and empowerment to women to engage them in creating and changing programs to fit their own needs.

Voz Workers’ Rights Education Project is a worker-led organization that empowers immigrants and day laborers to gain control over their working conditions through leadership development, education and community organizing. We operate the MLK Jr. Worker Center, which connects hundreds of workers a week with local employers and jobs. Voz requests a grant to support our local collaborative efforts within the Not One More Deportation Campaign, Stop Wage Theft Campaign, Private Prison Divestment, and merging Activists Coming Together (A.C.T.) Network to end Police/ICE Collaboration in Multnomah County in Oregon to #not1more, and mobilizing for Unidos Con Francisco Campaign.

Standing Against Foreclosure & Eviction (SAFE) is a community organization whose mission is to fight for racial, social and economic justice and gender equality by fostering working class power through direct action, coalition building, education, and advocacy. SAFE's efforts are primarily focused on those facing unjust foreclosures and bank evictions in the greater Seattle area. In organizing poor and working class people of diverse cultures and nationalities, we encourage individual empowerment and community leadership to generate a movement effecting systemic change and societal transformation.
