Jessy, Scott, congratulations on making it this far. Tonight you want to see your name on the parchment. Ill read the votes…
First Vote: Jessy
Second Vote: Scott
Because you deserve at least one vote no matter how bitter the jury is <3
Third Vote: Jessy
Fourth Vote: Jessy
I’m voting for Jessy tonight! Honestly, I love both of the people in this final 2. But it’s always a policy of mine to vote the person I think played the overall best game. It’s tough choosing between 2 friends, but in the end I have to reward you, Jessy. You played a killer game and you absolutely deserve this win. From one subtle hoe to another, congrats <3 <3 <3
Fifth Vote and the Winner of Tumblr Survivor Hosts: Jessy
Sixth Vote:
Seventh Vote:
Congratulations, Jessy! You are the Sole Survivor!
Hello final 2! Honestly I love the both of you and don’t really have anything bad to say about you guys? I met both of you here and think y’all are both pretty awesome people that I know I’ll continue to be friends with outside of the game. Anyway I know some of these jurors are bitter so I’ll try giving y’all a break from getting yelled at. You guys were my alliance, and I’m more than proud of the both of you. I simply wanna vote for who I believe played the better game and that’s that on that.
So my “task” for you guys is to rank each jury member by how loyal you were to them and why. I like detail™. First person on the list will be most loyal to, last will be least loyal too. Also include Connor Wubbenenebdhskl. Good luck you guys! The jury is watching hehe <3
Hi Andrew! I’m glad that Scott and I could do justice for the A Dora Bowls.
I honestly think the person I was most loyal to was yourself Andrew. I would always tell you what I was thinking and I valued your input. You helped me make decisions that I was unsure with and I really appreciated that. Even though I knew you were really close with Allison, I still valued you and was very loyal to us being Subtle Hoes. One of my favorite moments of the game is faking a conversation with you so people would be less suspicious of us working closely together.
Even though I was aware of Allison wanting to vote me out at the endgame stage of the game, I was loyal to her because I knew that Scott could influence her to make decisions that were good for our game. We shared common interests in wanting to vote out players of the other side and I believed that she would follow through until there was a point where it didn’t make enough sense to keep me around for much longer.
This next one is tricky because of how the cards ended up being played – even though I wasn’t working closely with MJ as the game drew to a close, I believe that I was more loyal to him than Connor because I was aware of Connor’s duplicity and knew that he had to go if I wanted a better chance of making Final Tribal Council. MJ and I would share information to each other if it was mutually beneficial and I bonded with him more than a lot of the other players.
Since Connah was close to MJ, I had some type of loyalty to him connected through a game of Telephone for a majority of the game. I never bonded with him until the later portion of the game because we had incentive to actually speak together and I’m glad we did because our conversations were actually fine. I got information from him through MJ so it was really beneficial.
I was then most loyal to Connor because even though I knew about his duplicity, he would work with me for the time being (Final 7) and we had some type of agreement to vote out at least one more person before going after each other, even if it was unspoken I think he knew that I had to go in Final 6/5 so it was pretty much mutual for each other. Before we had a disagreement on who to vote between Matt and Sam we got along really well.
I think I was more loyal to Matt than Josh and Sam because we had a really good alliance going in the pre-merge. I wanted to replicate it in the merge but we obviously had different interests which was unfortunate because I saw a lot of potential in us working together later on in the game. Despite that not happening, I think I tried to keep him on my side until our alliance was unsalvageable.
Even though I hadn’t talked a lot of game to Josh, I was thinking of working with him if he had decided to work with Connor over MJ but unfortunately it didn’t happen. Despite that, we still had good conversations and if we ever saw something that mutually beneficial I think I would’ve talked to him about it and see where it could end up. There was some loyalty but not a lot of it, but in the pre-merge portion anything was up for grabs at that point and if I thought he would put myself over him Connah and MJ I’d be open to working with him.
I was least loyal to Sam out of all the players in this game because we had completely different interests in how the game was going to be run. The one time I talked game with her I lied to her about who I was going to vote for which is a really good example of how disloyal I was to her. During the Endurance Immunity Challenge, I was debating talking actual game to her but I decided not to because it was too big of a risk since she could talk to Connah and MJ about it. Even though we had little loyalty, I still had fun talking to her about random nostalgic stuff!
Thank you Andrew for your words and question! The Subtle Hoes did that.
1. Andrew: we literally hit it off night one, night 2 we talked about how you needed to make merge and not get twelfth. It drove me insane how so many people wanted you out for no reason and how others told me you weren't necessary in their game. But you were #1 in my eyes and once you and I hit it off with Jessy I knew the three of us would be the most beautiful thing to ever grace this season. I really wanted us to be Final 3, with you and me being final 2. Jessy told me how you were her main f2 as well, so I'm not gonna be surprised if your #1 on her list as well
2. Sam: we established trust right in the beginning of the game and I was in love with the Theee Muskequeers pre-merge. Like our calls and just general game talk was bopping. That first merge vote was so tough on me cause I knew how much Sam trusted me and I still trusted her despite everything. I just saw the flip as a temporary move, but no one else seemed to think of it as such and when I was alienated I realized where we would have stood had we both been in the game.
3. Allison: Honestly, getting to know Allison this season has been a beauty. Like when I first saw her in this game, I didn't know what to expect. But she became such an iconic queen and such a ray of sunshine through such dark sided times.
4. Connor: one quality I loved about Connor was that he was just so forgiving and chill about everything. I think had Connor been here, he would win. That's more than what literally anyone else could have done in this game so mad respect goes to him there.
5. Connah: Connah's social game was on point, and I definitely did want to keep that option with him open to make a move once Andrew left, but then the game changed and I felt like if I did make a move to flip again, they'd report to Jessy or make a plan to get me out with info. As much as I would have wanted it to work, it just didn't.
6. Josh: I thought we could have worked something out, but we were just on opposite sides with everything. Kinda wished we were on the same page.
7. Matt: everyone assumed matt and I were in some hardcore alliance with Sam, when reality of it was matt summers and I never really talked.
8. MJ: I feel like this is self explanatory since I've stated multiple times in other answers why I couldn't trust him.
To start off, I would like to say thank you to Jessy for making to FTC so I actually have somebody that I want to vote for. God bless you.
At any rate, I do have some thoughts and questions for Jessy.
You obviously played a very visible and strong game, there’s no denying that. But personally, I have trouble finding much to admire in your approach to the game this season. That’s mostly because I know you’re a high caliber player that capable of a LOT more than what was seen this season. It’s disappointing to see you take the path of least resistance and working with the people that you did work with post-merge. Basically, and hear me out please, I don’t think you should ever complain about Adversaries again. This post-merge was practically the exact same with only one change in the end-game. Imagine yourself as Sam, Scott as Laure, Allison as Trace, Connor as myself (wow… a self-drag!), and me/Connah as Jake/Kaitlyn. That’s pretty much the best comparison I can find and why I honestly struggle to find your game as admirable. Whether you admit it or not, you worked with people that were easy to manipulate, relatively passive, and generally bad at the game, and you capitalized on that. I would’ve been far more impressed by you this season if you would’ve actually attempted to work with Sam and Lydia at some point, or at least convinced them that they weren’t on your radar, rather than simply target them literally from day one (1). Anyways, I have two questions for you:
1 — You contributed to having this game set up as very “us vs. them” while you were basically the only one on your side that was smart enough/well-connected enough to communicate with both sides and discuss the game regardless of how you’d actually end up voting. I personally find the contribution to setting up the game as “us vs. them” to be very… bland, basic, and elementary. I believe it lacks complexities and often results in people not enjoying the outcome of the season (see: Adversaries). I want you to either convince me that having the game set up as “us vs. them” is actually rather complex and dynamic, OR agree with my analysis here and simply clarify that you understood that that would result in getting you to the end/getting you the win.
2 — Right before F5 tribal council, you said you felt like Scott and Allison played just as good as you, but their games weren’t as visible. I commented that that’s a nice tactic to get people to actually feel comfortable w/ working w/ you/leaving you in regardless of potential jurors literally saying you were going to win. You denied and said that that wasn’t a tactic and you genuinely felt that way. My question for you is: if you genuinely feel like Scott and Allison played even remotely close to as well you, then I’ll give my jury vote to Scott. If that’s not the case, then argue to me how you played far better than Scott/Allison, and admit that what you said was, at least to some degree, a tactic to make them feel more comfortable w/ leaving you in the game.
3 — What are three (3) of my favorite movies, and if you had to choose between Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Gosling, who would you choose? Base that decision on whatever you want.
For Scott: At the tribal council I blew up, I said I felt like you’re very disingenuous and merely pretend to care about people and the things they have to say. Others have called you fake and said that you have a condescending personality.
At any rate, after my blow up, I apologized to you because I felt like that was an attack on your character. I left it at that. Anything else that I said about you that was negative, as far as I recall, was based on the game and my perception of you as a player. In your rites of passage, you said something along the lines of “however, I appreciate that you were less annoying in this game than in Maluku” which really struck me, because that's certainly something that you would’ve never directly said to me while I was in the game, i.e. in a confrontational setting. I apologized to you for my remarks that were more personal, and then you turn around and make comments about me that aren’t necessarily game related.
Obviously, I’m not voting for you unless Jessy bombs my questions, but I would like for you to comment on all of this and show me the kind of person you really are. If you decide not to respond simply because I’m not giving you my vote, then that only reaffirms to me my perception of you as a person, which is in fact disingenuous, fake, and condescending.
Hi MJ! Thanks for your thoughts and questions. I’ve taken them all in and came up with this response.
Firstly, I agree that an “us vs. them” game is very bland. I believed that if I went along with this concept of a game I’d have a very high chance of getting to Final Tribal Council. I was able to have allies that would have to keep me in since the other side of the game had a lot of threats that could downplay their chances of getting to Final Tribal Council. It allowed me to vote Connor out and still be able to stay the following Tribal Council as Allison still had to vote you or Connah out. It ensured myself a viable route to Final Tribal Council. I deeply understand where you’re coming from in this because I’ve watched Big Brother seasons where the “us vs. them” game would be very boring and I’d lose interest. Even though this is true, I didn’t come here to be entertaining, I came to do what I haven’t done before in Tumblr Survivor, and that’s win. This tactic proved to be the most successful.
Secondly, I do believe I played far better than Allison and Scott. Throughout this season, I tried to make good relationships with players even if they weren’t on my side of the game. I think Allison and Scott had difficulties in doing this, which was a huge cutback in their games. I analyzed every route I could take and made sure I was making the best decision I could make. My social game was on point with all of the players in the Final 7 and it gave me an edge on my allies. I did this by making sure I had open communication with everyone so nobody was secluded by myself. I admit what I said at Final 5 Tribal Council was a tactic as I do not think they played as great as me, and since they were under fire for keeping me in the game, I wanted to let them know that they still had a great chance at winning the game.
Finally, about your favorite movies! I actually didn’t have to ctrl+F in our conversation to answer this. Your favorite film is The Place Beyond the Pines, your favorite movie that you could watch over and over again is Back to the Future and your favorite sad movie is Brokeback Mountain. I’d also choose Jake Gyllenhaal over Ryan Gosling because I googled them both and Jake Gyllenhaal is hotter, even though his last name is hard to type.
I’d like to clarify something – I didn’t work with Lydia or Sam because I couldn’t click with Lydia and I was getting information from Scott that Lydia was throwing myself and Andrew out as possible vote-offs if we lost an Immunity Challenge. I didn’t work with Sam because Connah told her that I threw her name out. I also knew that you and Connah set up precautions with her so if I tried to talk to her about your or Connah’s game, there was a high chance it could get back to you or Connah. I decided to not take this chance because it was too risky and I was playing for a solid route to Final Tribal Council.
Thanks for your thoughts and questions MJ!
I mean, tbh the whole “however, I appreciate that you were less annoying in this game than in Maluku” was meant to be a joke since there were so many times in Maluku when you drove my crazy with your antics and this time around I saw a different side of you as a player. Like this time you didn't openly outburst and reveal who was in the minority of your alliance once one of your close allies (Jessie) was voted out on the other tribe. If you didn't get my message with that, then I apologize that it came across as personal and that it offended you.
To be completely honest, if this was 3 years ago I would have cared about what you thought of me? Now, if you wanna sit here and say I'm a disingenuous, fake, and condescending, I couldn't care less about what you think. Im not gonna sit here and say "no, I'm not that person" cause at the end of the day it's your opinion. I know a lot of what I have done in this game portrays me as that, and the fact that I straight up lied to multiple people on group calls doesn't help me with that either. I'm not gonna argue that with you and say I was truthful cause I've lied to almost everyone in this game more than once. However, I don't really think you have any right to say things about me as a person when you literally took no effort to cultivate a personal relationship with me.
For literally any game, I can't just willingly trust people before entering alliances. I have to actually take the time to get to know people and build a relationship before I can establish trust with anyone. This being an all returnee season, and me knowing people beforehand doesn't excuse that. I tried reaching out to you multiple times to try and establish trust because Sam/Lydia wanted to work with you, and every time I did you would shut me out when it came to anything and half-ass all conversations. You never seemed like you wanted to talk to me, so with that plus hearing you were openly targeting me, I didn't feel the need to really try with you anymore.
So if you think I'm an overall condescending and fake person, that's good for you. If everyone else here thinks that too, then good for them. I'm basically just telling you I really don't care about your opinion or anyone else's opinion of me as a person.
Hi guys! I’m gonna make this short and brief because I’m a busy bee and all. Scott, I pegged you as a threat because you were playing such a good game. And then, all of a sudden, you weren’t. I’m really not a bitter person at all, I don’t hate you for your move or whatever, but I think it was incredibly short sighted to alienate so many people who had your back and force yourself to go to the end with one of the biggest threats I’ve ever seen. For that reason, I cannot vote for you, but I really did enjoy getting back in touch with you!
Jessy, we’ve had such a JOURNEY, not just through this season but through all the games we’ve played together. Being your ally early this game and in All Stars was iconic, and being your enemy was honestly even MORE iconic. I have nothing but respect for you. You legitimately controlled everything from the very beginning with an iron grip, and despite the amazing players in this game and craziness and the blindsides, you literally never faltered and always remained in complete control. I have not seen someone play as much of a dominant game since watching Candace play Machu Picchu. What did you do? THAT. I love you so so much and you deserve this win so much girl.
I'm so proud of both of you <3 I could not have asked for a better 2 people to have worked with this merge. You both deserve to be here and I wish the best for both of you. My question is simple and my vote is up for grabs.
If you had to give everyone on the jury a pokemon (sinnoh and before because that what my series is on :P) what would it be and why?
Hi Allison! Thank you, I really appreciate the kindness. Honestly, I used to play Pokemon but don’t @ me! I’m an undercover fan.
I think that Andrew would be an Eevee. Based on my conversations about the game with him, we could act pretty well. Eevees have different evolutions, so in a sense, if Andrew wanted to talk to me so we could make fake logs he would use a different evolutionary stone and evolve into a Vaporeon! If he wanted to talk to me in the A Dora Bowls alliance chat (the alliance between Andrew, Scott and myself) he would use a Fire Stone to evolve into a Flareon!
Sam would definitely be a Nidoqueen. Nidoqueens are fierce and protective over their young - she made sure to keep her true allies safe. Her young would fit into the category of Lydia and Matt! Even though they aren’t literal Nidorinas and Niordinos, it makes a lot of sense. Also, Nidoqueens are strictly Female! ;)
I know this contradicts what I said before, but I believe that Matt is definitely a Nidoking! It makes sense because Sam and himself were a duo to be reckoned with and leaving within a span of 30 minutes together makes it even more perfect. Also… Nidokings are strictly Male! ;)
I think Josh is a Cubone! Cubones tend to themselves and are shy. It took us sometime to start having some conversations that clicked (motorolla phones!) Also, Cubones wear the skull of their dead mother as a helmet and Catherine is his mom… so it makes so much sense.
I think MJ is… a Trubbish! I’m kidding. At first I thought you were a Tropius, but I thought about it and you’re a Gallade. Gallades are Psychic types and honestly, even if my keysmash was a little bit different than they usually were, you would pick up on it just because you know me that well. It made me think you’re Psychic! It’s why I couldn’t tell you anything about the Sam vote or you would instantly get a read of what I said.
Connah is a Charmeleon! Charmeleons have a vicious nature and after that Jury Statement I think we all know why he fits in that category. Connah also played off everyone thinking that he was riding MJ’s coattails - he wasn’t and it made him be able to do subtle moves behind the scenes. This makes sense since Charmeleons aren’t fully evolved! Also, Charmeleons are cute and if we’re going with what Regan had to say about your looks, it makes sense!
Allison is definitely a Pachirisu. All season long you would say what was on your mind and didn’t give a fuck about what anyone thought about it. When you fought with Connah and MJ, I could imagine you using the Thunderbolt move on each of them with your iconic comebacks. My favorite line of yours is “Oh, I got the map too, hunny!” I will never forget it. On that one Tribal Council Hangout, you literally electrically shook MJ to the point where he popped off.
Thank you again Allison!
Andrew – Chimchar: I know Ampharos is his favorite, but I say Chimchar because whenever I think of Chimchar, I think of Andrew because we talked about how Chimchar was like the only fire pokemon in Gen 4 which got us into our love for Sinnoh. Like the other day I was at the beach and I saw a Chimchar stuffed animal, and it made me think of Andrew because of that conversation.
Sam – Eevee: I see Eevee as a pokemon that very much adapts to their surroundings and blossoms into an array of colorful pokemon. And I know how much Sam likes to color, and how she had to color code everything throughout this game.
Matt – Mr. Mime: I say this because Mr. Mine was like the sidekick to Mrs. Ketchum in Pokemon and you were Sam’s like loyal sidekick throughout all of this game and Sam is ultimate mom for me. But Sam can’t be Mrs. Ketchum cause Mrs. Ketchum isn’t a pokemon.
Josh – Sneasel: Josh blogs about pokemon and I’d say Vanillite but Vanillite since that’s his blog icon and his tumblr name, but Vanillite is Gen 5 so I’m saying Sneasel cause it’s the cutest ice pokemon that closely resembles Vanillite.
MJ – Snorlax: Honestly, this is only cause the one time we actually did like talk during this game, he made fun of the fact that I always took naps and miss out on game talk cause of my naps. And as we know, Snorlax is well… snorlaxin on the bridge waiting for the flute to be played.
Connah – Buneary: Honestly, this is only because we talked about how he’s gonna see Ariana Grande in September and how he wanted to sneak in alcohol to the concert, and when I think of Ariana and her “Dangerous Woman” tour, I think of the bunny ears that resemble Buneary’s ears.
Allison – Chansey: You’re the mom of your friend group in this community, and Chansey is a pokemon that is very caring to those around her. You have a heart of gold and really care for people both inside and outside of this game, and that’s one quality I really respect about you because I’m the same exact way.
congrats to "both" of you on making it this far. I wish I could say coming into this tribal I didn't have my mind made up, but unfortunately that isn't the case tonight so my desire to be present at tribal is very low but I don't want to disappoint trevor and be a bad juror. I think for the most part i'm just gonna state my piece and not really ask questions because there's really no need for either of you to answer anything from me.
first we have scott, someone who clearly didn't care about winning this game because if you did you would've actually made a move against the "biggest threat" in this game but unfortunately you happen to be sitting next to them. no excuses can be made for the poor execution of game you had throughout this experience. the only two moves you attempted to make blew up in your face, so to even say that you made a successful move would be an invalid statement. I guess at least you actually tried to make a move in this game unlike some people but the moves you attempted to make will not warrant you my vote at all. I would like to touch up on your opening speech where you said that you were always open to all options, but if you were, you would've made several moves (on your own) in order to advance your game, but being in the minority this entire merge, not once did you approach me and say "hey, i'm down for making a big move" and even if you did, you didn't go through with what you were saying. you voted with the same group of people the entire way through the merge and personally I don't see that as someone who is open to different options. good luck I guess? maybe you'll get a pity vote from that girl?
lastly we have jessy, someone who clearly played an extraordinary game and deserves to win this season unanimously basically. you managed to make successful moves throughout the game and I really love that you actually did utalise all your options in the game. however there are a few aspects in your game that I do not really respect as a player. firstly, you managed to align yourself with three people who can be easily manipulated and you would easily win in the end, I personally don't respect taking the easy way out when it comes to these games but it's understandable that it's like your 6th? time playing and you were hungry for this win. I can't lie and say i'm a little bitter that you would take scott and Allison to final 3 over me when I personally feel that I deserved one of those spots just due to the game I played and having to fight my ass off for like 6 votes? so when you decided to vote me out, it hurt a little bit but I understand your approach and why you did it. anyways other than that I wanna say that I really appreciate all the conversations we had, whether they'd just be about life or the game, I really always enjoyed talking to you. I want to clarify that it was your amazing ability to socialise with me that made me come to you always to make a move so thank you for that. all in all, congrats on the amazing game you played, you for sure have my vote <3
Congratulations to you guys for making it to Final 2! This wasn’t an easy game by all means and it’s hard to believe that this was only a 16 person game. This was the most difficult game I’ve ever played but because of that this has been the most rewarding as well. Great job both of you.
Jessy, you were the person I never thought I’d have the most fun to talk to in this season. We’ve played together 2-3 years ago back in Eternal Sonata and it’s such a shame I’m only now realizing how incredible you are as a person. I really hope we continue to keep in touch outside that game. I’m glad that out of all the things we talked about, the most memorable one was about mobile phones lmao. http://prntscr.com/fu3ty0 . My question for you is how did you manage to gain back Allison and Scott’s trust after you went behind their backs during blind week and worked with MJ and Connah to vote Connor out? If I were to compare you to a Survivor player, would Cagayan!Tony be an accurate answer? I also need closure on why I got voted out the round I did. The only reason I know of was out of spite because I didnt vote for Connor during the Karma Vote.
Scott, you were the first person I talked to in this community outside Galapagos. We’ve played a few side games before a few years back and it always dosent go well for us but seeing you on the cast Day 1 made me excited and felt like this is a chance to work with you. We didnt. To be honest, I’m confused. I’m confused on where you stood during the Karma Vote and the Andrew vote. Why were you willing to vote with me during that time?
To close this off, here’s a question for both of you. One thing that Lydia said had struck me the most in this game. “Know when to use friendships, and know when to cut them loose.” (or something like that ig). This was the line that kept on going in my mind over and over again since the Karma vote. You all know why so I’m not going to explain. I want to know how pre-existing relationships have helped you advance in this game, how it hindered you and when you decided to cut it off.
That is all thank you both and good luck! :)
Hi Josh! I’m so touched that you think I’m an incredible person and I think likewise for you. I’m so happy that you think this about me because I was so unsure if you wanted to work with me this season but now my feelings are settled reading this. I’d love to keep in touch after this season and again I’m really happy that you think this!
During Blind Week, I thought I had cultivated a close enough relationship with Scott to tell him about myself wanting to vote Connor out. I already had known about Allison and Connor’s duplicity since he informed me of them talking in a group chat about wanting to vote me out in Final 6 or Final 5, which is why it was so important for myself to win immunity at Final 6. He agreed with voting Connor out and we mutually decided that he should vote for Connor but tell everyone he voted for MJ so that he could influence Allison to still vote with us over Connah and MJ in the next Tribal Council. That way Allison would still be on my side for at least one more Tribal Council.
For the most part, I do think Tony would be an accurate comparison because his game relied on making close relationships (Woo and Trish) and he also took out a strong alliance. Although this is true, I do think that my game is very similar to Natalie Anderson’s gameplay in Survivor: San Juan del Sur. The only limitation to this comparison is that she took Jaclyn to Final Tribal Council and voted out Baylor. I think if she didn’t take Jaclyn to the end, our gameplay would be almost completely similar.
You were voted out at Final 7 because at that point I wanted to make sure Connor wouldn’t flip on our alliance. I wanted him to think he was the most important voice because I knew Connah and MJ would be campaigning to him to vote with your alliance so if he believed he was calling the shots in our alliance he would be more hesitant to flip. Connor was the first person to say your name so at that point I had to go with it. I also thought that if MJ left I would be the biggest target remaining and people would eventually turn on me so I thought that it should be between you and Connah. I believed that if Connah left, people would see MJ’s final 2 leaving as an opportunity to capitalize on his intuition as a route to Final Tribal Council. It just kind of fell into place and I couldn’t change the vote without rustling feathers and risking my own game. I also do think that you voting Andrew was a reason why Connor wanted you to leave, as was the Karma Island vote.
Pre-existing relationships have helped me advance in this game because I was already friends with MJ before playing this game and we got along together pretty well. He would keep me aware of what was happening in the game which was very beneficial because he had a lot of information coming from all angles since he was closely working with Connah who was working with the side of Lydia, Matt and Sam. I could make decisions about my own game while making sure I knew all of the variables involved (for example: Sam’s Haumaru Idol. MJ had told me about this so I knew it was in play at Final 12.) I also have known Scott for a very long time which helped us greatly as we knew each other pretty well. I was able to click with him game wise once we realized we shared common interests. Pre-existing relationships also in general helped me reminiscence about the past to players like Matt, MJ, Sam and Scott since I knew them all before entering the game.
Pre-existing relationships have hindered me in this game because I knew that MJ would be more inclined to work with Connah later on in the game and share information with him because of their close friendship outside of the game. Instead of having MJ to myself, he was working with Connah who was close with Lydia, Matt and Sam. This limited my game as I had to be aware of their close friendship and make moves around it.
I decided to cut my pre-existing relationship off with MJ once we reached Final 5 because I knew that he had a high chance of winning out the following Individual Immunity Challenges. It was hard since I had a lot of fun talking to him, but I knew that it was best for my game. I also decided to cut my pre-existing relationship off with Matt once I found out that he been sharing information about my game to Lydia and Sam. This made me think that he would be more loyal to those players, and I didn’t want to go deep with them so there was obviously an issue. The fallout damaged my game but I think I was able to recover once I set myself up with an alliance.
Thank you again for the kind words and I hope we talk after this!
To clarify where I stood with Karma Island/Andrew vote, during the post-swap phase of this game Andrew/Jessy/I formed an alliance (The A Dora Bowls) and I knew this alliance was who I wanted to be loyal to, because during this time Sam and Lydia were both building themselves up to be huge targets, and the people they were wanting to align with (Matt/MJ/Connah) did not benefit me moving forward. I kept hearing multiple times from multiple people that MJ was itching to get me out (ex. jessy telling me about the 3-2-1 plan where mj/jessy/Andrew would vote me out at f13/f12; sam telling me about the split vote at first merge tribal between matt/I where matt plays his idol). Aligning with people knowing they would vote me out the first chance they got didn’t sit well with me. I knew that sticking with Sam and her alliance would only hurt my game long term, so I was looking to stick with Andrew/Jessy and work with You/Connor/Allison at merge.
I was willing to vote with you those rounds because I was under the impression that your loyalties were lying with Connor/Allison. When Connor and I were talking about potential votes to bring him back in this game, he told me he knew for sure that you would be voting him back in this game. So when I come to find that you were also in the same position I was, just on the other side, I knew I needed to know where you were at. When I told you I wanted to vote Connor back in at the Karma vote, you immediately went to Lydia and told her that, who told to me that you had told her this. So I wanted to work with you to see what you were really thinking because I wasn’t expecting you to be as undecided about that vote as you ended up being. And I wanted to know what you were thinking as opposed to you wondering what I was thinking because what you decided to do potentially determined my fate in this game. And it did. You deciding to vote out Andrew as opposed to MJ put me in the minority and destroyed my relationship with Sam, who was the only person I trusted on your side.
To me, pre-existing friendships definitely contributed to my game. I’ve known both Jessy and Sam longer than I’ve known anyone else in this community, so being able to reconnect with them did play a big part in how I got far in this game. With them, it was definitely easier to talk game. I tried the best I could to branch away from pre-existing friendships and meet new people such as Connor/Andrew, and get to know people I didn’t know that well such as Allison/Connah/Lydia. At the end of the day, I decided to trust the group of people who I felt I had the best relationship with in the game as opposed to outside of the game.
There were times where it hindered me as well. For example, Regan and I are very close in this community and she got me to apply for this season. I had heard from Matt when he was kidnapped that she was going around talking about how she was gonna trust me, but not take me all the way and it scared me that she was throwing out that we had a pregame final 2 when the reality of it was that we didn’t. That’s the only time I could say it really could have put me in jeopardy if people assumed we would link up just because we were friends.
I decided to cut off personal relationships when I saw that they didn’t benefit me in the game anymore, just like I would if I was playing with complete strangers. During the Andrew vote, everyone on Jessy’s side wanted to vote Sam but I refused to do so because I still trusted her at that point and was afraid of our personal friendship outside of this game. After that vote when Andrew left, I realized major damage had been done to my relationship with Sam to the point where Sam didn’t want to include me in on their next vote and refused to even talk game with me and the minority alliance at that time. So when an idea to vote Sam out gets approached to me 10 minutes before tribal, I decide to cut that relationship with her because for all I know she could have been doing the same to me that I did to her and I didn’t see Sam wanting to work with me anymore.
Congratulations to both of you and I genuinely mean to both of you. Making the final two is not an easy task and you both did it. I may not respect how you got there but I do respect you both for getting there. Good job children.
Scott, I’m going to start off with you.
The most fun I had in this game were the early days when the Muskequeers would have calls. In my eyes, the 3 of us were gonna rule the game but when some idiots (@CONNAH @MARSELLUS) ruined that, I thought it was you and I against the world and together we would make it to final 2. Well here you are… without me… and that kinda hurts. After you betrayed me I felt like you were fake and insincere with me. We made the same small talk we made the first week of the game, you literally told me some of the same exact things.
Even after you betrayed me, I still made sure to keep your name off the table but you clearly couldn’t do that same for me so I owe you absolutely nothing. Especially not my vote for you to win.
Jessy, we’ve played together many times before but this time was much different than any of the others. Jessy, let’s talk game! I have one question for you. If I vote for you to win the million dollars that Trevor has to offer and the title of Sole Survivor, will you get a mic and call me and actually speak?
If you responded with no:
I’m sorry but I can’t vote for you! Guess I’m quitting jury. Sorry Trevor! Lydia can have my spot!
If you responded with yes:
My dearest idol snatcher Jessy, we didn’t work together at all during this game but in the past, you have voted for me to win 3 times and 2 of those resulted in a win (stupid Mihai and Cali) and I got to vote for you to win once in Mexico. So now, it is time for me to return the favor and vote for you to win for the second time. Glad I get to cast my vote for you and congratulations on playing an incredible game queen.
Hi Sam Floater Ass Bitchinski! ;)
I’m sorry Sam, talking on call is not something I’m comfortable with but I’ll do you one better. If you vote for me, I will write you a song about either Lauren Jauregui, Elizabeth Gillies, chicken nuggets or the movie Trolls. We can have Google Translate sing the lyrics which can easily replace my voice because I am a robot after all!
