Chapter One: Reminder of The Past
Olivia “Are you listening Liv?” I blinked a few times when I realized Melly was still talking to me.
“Yes Melly, I’m listening.” All of my attention was on the man across the street, he looked like Christopher. Then again, my mind could be playing tricks on me.
“Well, like I was saying, can you believed he tried to play me like some hoe!?” He’s coming over here. Still fit, more handsome and mature looking than he did one year ago.
“Hello Olivia.” He spoke
“Christopher.” I said while sending him a head nod. My eyes were on the woman next to him. When he noticed me staring her down, he introduced us.
“Oh, Alex, this is Olivia. Olivia this is Alex, my fiancé.” Christopher explained in one breath. He looked really uncomfortable, which made me chuckle a little to myself. I extended my hand out to Alex.
“Pleasure meeting you Alex. This is my friend Melly.” I said patting my hand on Melly’s back.
“Hello. Is Melly you’re real name?” Alex asked.
“My name is Mellany. People call me Melly.” The attitude couldn’t be any more evident in her voice.
“Oh. That’s nice.” Alex couldn’t have been any more taken back. I shifted my eyes back to Christopher, who looked very uncomfortable, again making me chuckle to myself. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. I stood up.
“Well, Christopher, Melly and I had a meeting to attend. It was a pleasure running into you. Nice meeting you Alex.” I looked at Melly who was standing at my side.
“Come on Melly” I said, turning on my heels walking away.
“Wait!” I heard him yell behind me. I sighed before turning around. He’s still flawless.
“Yes Christopher?” I must’ve looked nervous. I felt nervous. It’s just Christopher Olivia, calm down.
“I was wondering is we could exchange numbers, to keep in touch?” Christopher said while rubbing the back of his neck with his hand while looking at me with hopeful eyes.
“Oh, of course.” I reached into my oversized purse and grabbed my wallet, pulling out my business card.
“Heres my office number. Call anytime.” I smiled handing him the card. I hoped he didn’t think I was giving him my mobile number. That’s not happening.
“Oh, well, okay then. It was good seeing you Olivia.” With that statement he walked away meeting Alex at the end of the sidewalk. I rolled my eyes and turned around meeting Melly who was already in the car.
“So how was it seeing him after a year?” She asked as soon as I got in the car. I strapped my seatbelt in before answering her.
“Like he never left.” With that I drove off down the street.
