PSA: Finding Art/Adoptable Artists!
If you’re looking for that one adopt/art that you can’t seem to find the artist of, use the Forum Search with the following terms:
Search Term = The Dragon’s ID
Poster = Whoever originally posted the request for the artwork (likely yourself, but if it was a gift then use the gifter’s name or leave this blank)
Forum = Art or Adoptables, depends on which it is but it’s good to search both.
A vast majority of artists typically require you to link to the dragon or a scry in the post. Both the link and the dragon image contains the dragon’s ID. If you didn’t post the link and just the image, then try adding “_350″ to the end of the ID. If you used a scry, then try searching the dragon’s scry instead of their ID (not sure how well this works though, but worth a shot).
This will take you to all mentions of your dragon’s ID (or image) where you can comb through them and look for the right adoptable. If the images in the thread are broken you can try going through previous customers’ dragons and seeing if they have the same adopt/artstyle in their dragon bios as the one you have on the off chance that they re-uploaded their image to a more reliable host. Some might even confirm it with credit properly assigned in the bio!
It doesn’t guarantee finding it, but it certainly helps in going through years worth of posts! I recommend that Artists always be sure that your clients include their dragon’s ID somewhere in the post so that people can always go back and find it/you <3
