Ok, so, a couple of years ago, my mom got me one of those 23 and me tests and I took it in hopes of finding my biological father who I know nothing about except for a few vague facts and have never met him and honestly I don't think he knows I exist.
Anyway, so I recently have connected with two family members from his side.
A 2nd cousin Who we can call "E" , A 3rd cousin (once removed) who we will call "K".
Both are related to me, but they are not related to eachother. However, we have friended each other through Facebook and have an ongoing group chat. Anyway, so E never knew her father. She had been like me, searching for him and never got much information to truly find him.
It turns out K is really good at finding information. In less than 2 days, she managed to find E's father. When he was born, when he died, who he married, where he lived, his children. We confirmed it was him through small details that E DID have about him.
And from there we were able to find
- her aunt (father's sister)
We also were able to figure out that my biological father's grandparent is her father's sibling. So if I find her father's sibling and find their children and then find their children, it should lead me to my biological father.
This is HUGE for me. The fact I now have more information and it is narrowed down a little more. I have searched and searched for some sort of information for over 5 years now and this is incredible. So how I know
-he is currently either 45 or 46 years old
-he has brown hair and brown eyes
-he is either type A or type AB blood
-he was in the Navy and was stationed in Mississippi around April/May 1995
-I know who his great uncle is
I am nervous about this, but also excited about it. I have a feeling I'll meet him in the near future.
