How weird to put whites back on simply to do a photoshoot
“I don’t get why Karen Chen wrote a book... she’s not an amazing skater or a huge name, she’s still really inconsistent and I don’t know who’d actually be interested in reading about her.”
Totally Random Non-Fiction Tuesday
Okay, I’ll admit it, I didn’t really have any idea who Karen Chen was. I haven’t watched much other than the Women’s Hockey games in the Winter Olympics (when they show them) for the past few years.
She was a US National Champion, and went to the 2018 Olympics, and in this memoir she goes all the way back to her starting her training at five years old. As someone who also learned to skate around that time, it was interesting to see her lay out what she did, and then compare it to how I did.
Oh, and her ankle, wow her ankle. Ouch. She has an amazing story and the forward by Kristi Yamaguchi, a skater that I definitely watched in my youth was an added bonus.
Finding the Edge by Karen Chen
So I was going to wait and post this tomorrow, but then. Whatever. I will repost for everyone who is not awake in the middle of the night/early in the morning.
This is actually maybe the first Sherlock fan fic I wrote? And it's going to be several chapters--somewhere between 5-7. It's. kink. and bdsm. And angst.
Enjoy, if those tags don't make you nervous. Though if they do I am not entirely sure how you're still following me.
