This was a bad idea, this was possibly illegal, or could get him in a lot of trouble if caught, but in the grand scheme of things that was really the least of his worries, wasn’t it? But he had to know. What was a little unpaid overtime to investigate the crime scene further? An open-and-shut case they’d dismissed it as, ignoring his insistence there was something strange about the whole thing.
It was late when he slipped under the police-tape, notebook and flashlight at the ready, donning his CSI jacket just in case he did run into any trouble, or patrolling officers.
