#clexafic highschool camp for troubled students during summer so they won't cause trouble outside

*cracks knuckles* you are my new fave person I love this prompt so much. 

I enjoyed this too much to make it a one-shot so here’s the intro, I’ll post a link to my AO3 when I finish a full chapter.

Also I spewed this part out in an excited blur because I liked the idea so much, so the writing isn’t my best. It’ll be better edited when I post the rest!

In which Clarke is a badass, no-fucks-given bombshell blonde and Lexa is equally badass, but also an adorable cinnamon roll. They meet in the George Washington Summer camp for troubled girls, after both getting into too many fights. They meet, they get to know each other. They eventually do sexy things. And here’s the best part: NEITHER OF THEM GETS SHOT.

The camp counsellor had been told to ask Group C a question that could make them reflect on their own wrongdoings while also acting as a start-of-camp icebreaker. She’d spent all spring thinking about it, trying to get the perfect question, and when she had strode into the room full of moody-looking girls, all here against their will, sitting on little wooden chairs in a circle, glaring at her, she did so smugly. She’d nailed it.

The camp counsellor, however, was beginning to regret asking her question now. Scrap that, beginning ended a while ago. She was long gone into a deep chasm of regret by the time it came to Clarke’s turn to answer.

Why are we here?

Maya, bless her, the perky counsellor who had, no doubt, volunteered at the George Washington Summer Camp for Troubled Girls for something to put on her college application, was visibly sweating beneath her polo shirt. She had tried, in vain, to keep the room under control, but was losing. Disastrously.

So far, answers had included such gems as “If I told you, I’d have to kill you,” and “I sucked too many dicks. My mom decided I was a menace to society, the poor boys were just falling at my feet.” A girl called Raven, just before Clarke’s turn had said “To get me out of the house. I’m being replaced by a guy called Jim Bean. I don’t know if any of you know him.” The sniggers that followed each answer drowned out Maya’s attempts at telling them all to be serious. Idiot. Didn’t she realise that asking politely would never work here?

All eyes were on Clarke now. The truth, aggravated assault. It was here or juvy, wouldn’t be good enough. She needed something witty, or at the very least cutting or rude. She needed to fit in with these girls if she wanted to survive the summer. Hell, she wanted to fit in with these girls. They looked badass.

“I’m on my own personal mission.” Clarke started, trying to make her tone sound serious. Maya, nearly in tears at this point, smiled hopefully.

“Go on, Clarke,” she prompted, her voice shaking. “Everyone here has a mission of some kind. Would you mind sharing yours?”

“Well, it’s very private, but I guess I don’t mind sharing. You all seem so nice.” Maya was practically pissing herself with excitement. Finally, a girl she could help. Clarke forced her face int a deadpan expression. She looked around the room, making eye contact with the Hot Brunette sat opposite her as she spoke her next lines. “It’s a mission that I’ve set myself, see. A personal challenge, if you will, to pick up as much pussy as I can in six weeks.”

The room burst into laughter. Some of the (hopefully not so straight) girls even applauded. The girl opposite Clarke, the gorgeous brunette that she had decided to lock down on, laughed. God, when she smiled she was even prettier. Her face fell naturally into something of a scowl, but when she smiled, she completely lit up. When she looked back at Clarke to find her still staring, her face softened somewhat, her eyes meeting Clarke’s almost warmly for a second, before looking away. Was Hot Brunette blushing? She hoped so, leaning back in her chair proudly.
