We're sad to say goodbye to our current exhibition "Finding: Source Material in the Archives of American Art" but we are so excited to begin installation of the next exhibition. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes previews of "Expanding the Legacy: New Collections on African American Art."

Strike a pose, there's nothing to it.

Painter Honoré Sharrer depicted American life with uncanny realism. To prepare for her paintings, Sharrer would take dozens of photographs of subjects—school children, housewives, farmers—with the look she desired, often posing them for effect.

These photographs are on view through August 22 in our exhibit Finding: Source Material in the Archives of American Art

We just spotted a Doduo in our gallery! Doduo says that our current exhibition is worth a second look.

If you have to go into the library for the source, ask the librarian for a map of the building. They can direct you on how to read the map and find the source. You will use the Call # to find the source in the library.
