“If you don’t know where to start, start at the beginning.”
I can’t tell you who spoke these words or where I was told this (and I think it may have had something to do with calculus?), but it has stuck with me over the years.
A little introduction: I am a pandemic graduate who recently found myself lost as to my next step in life. In all honesty, I feel a bit like a sailboat without a rudder, lost at sea, and stuck in the doldrums. Harry Potter has always been like my security blanket. I read the first book (for the first time) when I was 6 and went to the premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two on my 18th birthday. I literally grew up with Harry. As a result, in times of uncertainty (and also just because) I find myself returning to the series for comfort and inspiration. In my search for newer content I discovered various Harry Potter podcasts that I’d never heard before! They were doing chapter-by-chapter commentaries and I found myself disagreeing or feeling like they missed so much! Thus this blog was born.
I am going to reread the entire Harry Potter series, rewatch the films, listen to these blogs and add in my two cents along the way. Maybe, just maybe, it will help me find myself too.
