Excited to share the latest addition to my #etsy shop: Twist Pen - Wood Laminate - Red White and Blue If you haven't figured it outbyet, my favorite color combo will always be red, white, and blue. That fervor shows through in a number of the pens I make, and this one is no exception. While the wood in this pen is known by many names (spectraply, dymondwood, wtc.), it's basically a kind of very high end plywood. Each individual layer of wood is dyed a different color before being laminated together. If you're looking for something custom, this means I can make pens similar to this one from most any color combination you can dream up. Excited to share the latest addition to my #etsy shop: Majestic Squire Twist Pen - Sea Shells in Blue Funny thing about these sea shell pens. After I made my first one, I swore I'd never make another unless the first one sold. I'm not proud of it, but I priced that first one so high I figured no one would ever buy it. If you don't sell the first one, there's no reason to make another right? It sold the next week. Doh!!! This isn't my first sea shell pen, but I promise I price them more reasonably these days. I won't lie, I DID NOT enjoy making this pen. Sea shells are not a material that naturally turns well on a lathe. Quite the opposite. They destroy the drill bits and carbide cutting tools I use the shape them. But I poured every bit of love and passion I have for pen making into this pen. The end results are just too stunning to not always have one in inventory. The way the shells just seem like they're floating in a crashing blue sea...I promise you. Excited to share the latest addition to my #etsy shop: Gadsden Flag Inlay on Bolt Action Today's pen is another favorite of mine. No surprise since I love all my pens. But the Gadsden Flag is a symbol that is close to the heart of every American patriot. The hardware on this bolt action style clicking ballpoint pen is made with a gold finish. The body hardly needs any explanation. If it does, you need to get off the Internet for a while and read some history books. The body is wood inlay with individual pieces of wood that are dyed and then laser cut. They are then assembled like a jigsaw puzzle, shaped on the lathe, and given anywhere as many as 25 coats of protective clear coats.
